This week our clients have enjoyed creating patriotic yarn hangers as a special way to honor and celebrate our veterans ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Activities like yarn crafts are more than just fun—they provide meaningful benefits for brain health and overall well-being. Working with yarn supports fine motor skills, hand strength, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and sequencing skills. Choosing colors, following steps, and creating something with purpose helps stimulate different areas of the brain and encourages cognitive engagement.

For older adults and those living with dementia, crafting can also promote relaxation, reduce stress, encourage self-expression, spark memories, and create a sense of accomplishment and connection.

Today’s patriotic creations were a beautiful reminder that creativity, purpose, and honoring those who served can all come together in one meaningful activity. 🇺🇸✨

Our clients enjoyed following hand movement videos and engaging both sides of the brain through guided movement activities! 🧠🙌

Activities that encourage clients to mirror hand movements and cross the midline can provide so many wonderful benefits for individuals living with dementia. These exercises support bilateral coordination (using both sides of the body together), encourage communication between both sides of the brain, improve focus and attention, strengthen motor planning, and promote hand-eye coordination.

Following movement patterns can also stimulate memory pathways, increase engagement, and create moments of success and confidence. Most importantly—it’s a fun and meaningful way to keep our minds active and our bodies moving while sharing smiles together! 💙

Small movements can make a big impact in supporting cognitive health, independence, and overall well-being.

There’s something so special about watching creativity come to life ✨🎨🪵

This past week we enjoyed painting and making wood crafts together at our therapeutic dementia care center—and the benefits go far beyond creating something beautiful to take home.

Creative activities like painting and crafting help support fine motor skills, encourage self-expression, stimulate memory, and promote focus and concentration. Choosing colors, making designs, and working with hands can also create a sense of accomplishment and purpose. Most importantly, these moments bring opportunities for conversation, laughter, friendship, and joy.

Every masterpiece tells a story, and we love seeing our clients’ personalities shine through their creations. ❤️

Stay tuned for more pictures of all the amazing artwork!

Today our clients enjoyed an activity focused on bilateral coordination using plastic balls and tracing lines — and it was so much more than just fun! 🩵🎈

Activities like these encourage both sides of the body and brain to work together, which can provide meaningful benefits for individuals living with dementia. Tracing patterns while moving the balls helps support hand-eye coordination, focus, motor planning, concentration, and cognitive engagement. It also encourages crossing midline movements, which can stimulate communication between both hemispheres of the brain.

Most importantly, these moments create opportunities for success, confidence, connection, and joy. Every smile, every completed line, and every shared laugh matters. 💙

At our therapeutic dementia care center, we love creating purposeful activities that support the whole person while making memories together.

🎉📺 Happy National Game Show Day! 📺🎉 (Yesterday)

We celebrated in one of our favorite ways—by playing Wheel of Fortune at our Therapeutic Dementia Care Center! Our clients always look forward to this activity, and it never fails to bring out smiles, laughter, friendly competition, and wonderful conversations.

Games like Wheel of Fortune provide so many benefits for individuals living with dementia. They help stimulate memory, encourage problem-solving skills, promote social interaction, support language and word recall, and boost confidence through successful participation. Most importantly, they create opportunities for joy, connection, and meaningful engagement.

Yesterday was filled with cheers, teamwork, and lots of fun as everyone took their turn at the wheel! 💙

Because every day is a great day to learn, laugh, and make memories together

A huge thank you to the wonderful kids from Our Lady Queen of Peace School for their last visit of the school year! 💛 Our clients always look forward to your visits, and the joy, laughter, and smiles you bring mean more than words can say.

Interacting with children provides so many benefits for the elderly, especially those living with dementia. These visits help spark memories, encourage conversation, reduce feelings of loneliness, and bring comfort and happiness to our clients. The energy and kindness the children share truly brighten everyone’s day.

Thank you for spending your time with us this year and creating such special memories together. We hope each and every one of you has a fun, safe, and blessed summer
