Hooray for sliding scale for professionals!!! As music therapists, we don’t make a lot of money, so paying for things like conference and continuing education can take a big financial toll. Kudos to our national organization for making this years conference more financially accessible!

Grateful for a month with fewer expenses 🙌

In July we paid a prorated rent for our last space, and didn’t have to pay any for the new space (we got one of those “rent now for three free months rent” sort of deals) but I’m pretty nervy for how it’ll be when the real rent kicks in 😅 it’s fine! We’re building up caseloads and I’m brainstorming other ways to make it work while we do so! Remember - I moved knowing it would be scary here for a minute so I made sure to have financial cushion before making any moves. 👍🏼

Introducing Eastside Music Therapy’s first ever intern!

Olivia (She/They) was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Seattle, Washington in 2021. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to be an intern at Eastside Music Therapy and is particularly interested in Neurodiverse-affirming and improvisational modalities.

Olivia has worked with individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities across the lifespan as well as older adults in memory care. She finds joy in connecting with others on a highly individual level and helping clients reach their specific goals.

Olivia is currently working towards completing an internship and hopes to earn her MT-BC certification in order to serve the community as a music therapist.
