This Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is one of the most powerful things we can experience.

While it marks a historic step toward equality, it also inspires us to seek freedom in our everyday lives—whether it’s from limitations, struggles, or even chronic pain.

Because living freely also means moving freely.

High uric acid is often ignored
 until the pain becomes unbearable.

What may seem like “normal joint pain” or temporary swelling can sometimes be your body warning you about gout or rising uric acid levels.

The earlier you notice the signs
the better your chances of preventing repeated flare-ups, joint damage, and kidney complications.

Your gout keeps coming back for a reason.

If your gout keeps coming back in the same joint, it’s a warning sign you shouldn’t ignore.

Many people focus on stopping the flare-up, but the real issue is the uric acid crystals that continue building up beneath the surface.

That’s why medications that once worked may start feeling less effective over time.

The key isn’t just controlling today’s pain—it’s preventing tomorrow’s attack.

If you’re experiencing repeated gout flares, talk to your rheumatologist about a long-term plan to lower uric acid levels and stop crystals from forming.

Don’t just treat the flare. Treat the gout.

Many people taking GLP-1 medications notice less pain, stiffness, and inflammation. And that’s incredible.

✅ Weight loss reduces stress on your joints
✅ Lower inflammation can improve how you feel
✅ Better mobility can improve quality of life

But here’s what many people don’t realize:

GLP-1 medications are NOT a replacement for the medications that protect your joints from permanent damage.

If you have rheumatoid arthritis or another inflammatory arthritis, you may feel better on a GLP-1—but feeling better doesn’t mean the disease has stopped.

Joint damage, erosions, and destruction can still happen if the underlying disease isn’t properly treated.

The goal isn’t just to feel better today.
The goal is to protect your joints for years to come.

Make sure you’re getting the full picture before making decisions about your health.

Follow for evidence-based rheumatology tips that help you protect your joints and live healthier.

“I don’t think my Hydroxychloroquine is working. Should I stop taking it?”

It’s one of the most common questions people with Sjögren’s ask.

The good news? Research into Sjögren’s treatments is advancing rapidly, and new therapies are on the horizon.

Before stopping any medication, make sure you have a conversation with your rheumatologist about why you’re taking it and what benefits you should realistically expect.

💬 Have you ever wondered if your medication was actually working? Let us know in the comments.
