A little prep and good aftercare can go a long way. Here are a few things we’d rather you not do before and after your injectables:

BEFORE:
❌ Don’t wait until right before a wedding, vacation, photoshoot, or big event. Give your treatment time to settle and allow for possible swelling or bruising.
❌ Don’t stop medications or supplements on your own because you heard they can cause bruising. Always talk with your provider before making changes to anything prescribed.
❌ Don’t forget to tell us what’s been going on. New medications, recent dental work, illness, cold sores, previous filler or other treatments can all be important for your injector to know.

AFTER:
❌ Don’t rub, massage, or put unnecessary pressure on the treated area. That can include things you may not immediately think about, like wearing a tight-fitting hat after forehead injections. Unless your injector specifically tells you otherwise, give the area some space.
❌ Don’t immediately hit the gym or work up a sweat. Give your body a little time before jumping back into strenuous exercise. Follow the timeframe recommended by your injector for your specific treatment.
❌ Don’t lie down right away after Botox. Plan to stay upright for the period of time recommended by your injector after treatment.
❌ And don’t let Dr. Google send you into a spiral. 😉 Some temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, or bruising can happen after injections, and your results may need a little time to settle. If something feels unusual or concerning, call your provider.

Not all chin and neck fullness is the same, which means the solution isn’t always the same either.
