Nurturing Water Therapies LLC is hosting their first annual Tides of Inclusion conference held in Lake Union, Seattle the weekend of August 28-30, 2026.

This in-person conference is dedicated to addressing the leading cause of death for autistic youth by advancing inclusive water safety education and improving outcomes for autistic and neurodivergent (ND) individuals. This intimate experience will include hands-on learning, meaningful conversations, collaboration, and unforgettable experiences centered around inclusion and water safety.

The conference is designed for parents, caregivers, swim instructors, and therapists who want to broaden their understanding of the full spectrum of both water safety and autism. Attendance is limited to just 20 participants to create a more personal and interactive experience, and spaces are expected to fill quickly.

As we focus on water safety, we can’t forget the staggering statistics on drowning with our autistic youth. I’m happy to see Florida taking a more serious stance. Now it’s time for Washington to provide more support and education for families, caregiver and facilities. We can and must collectively reduce the these tragic stats.

Kids with autism can be 160 times more likely than other children to drown. Florida is dedicating state money to a program that prioritizes swim lessons for these kids.
