Your wrists called… they’re tired from your screen time.

If a full day of typing, scrolling, and clicking has your wrists feeling stiff or achy, give them a quick reset:
✋ Arm straight + gently pull your fingers back — hold 20 sec
👇 Then gently flex your wrist forward — hold 20 sec
🔁 Repeat 3x each side

Quick. Easy. Desk-friendly.

And if your wrist keeps complaining even after the stretch? It might be time to figure out WHY.

💡 Don’t just stretch it. Come get evaluated for long term relief.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday: Core strength isn't about six-packs — it's about stability.

Your core is a collection of the muscles involving the abdominals, pelvic floor, glutes, and back musculature that work in unison with ALL movements. A strong core
protects your spine, improves balance, and enhances every movement you make.

Ask our therapists about a core program tailored for you.

Introducing Chantelle Davenport, PT, DPT, who joined our First Hill team this week and will be starting MTI Physical Therapy’s Sports Residency program in January. Earlier this year, they completed their last clinical rotation with us, so we’re thrilled that they chose to come back and join our team. Here’s what Chantelle shared:

“I am a recent graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Washington and completed my last clinical rotation at MTI’s First Hill clinic. I was drawn to MTI because of their 1:1 model, which allows me to build genuine relationships and provide patient-centered care.

I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Sports residency program and begin my professional career with MTI. I believe it's important not just to treat an injury, but to understand the person behind it. Whether it's returning to sport, recovering from surgery, or moving better without pain, I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach to rehabilitation, ensuring the patient's individualized goals, activity level, and lifestyle guide their recovery.

Outside of the clinic, you can find me weight training, running, hiking, playing pickleball, organizing in the community, and trying new coffee shops and restaurants with friends!”

We’re so glad that you decided to come back to MTI, Chantelle – welcome back to the team! To learn more about Chantelle and request an appointment with them, visit our website: https://mtipt.com/our-team/physical-therapist/chantelle-davenport/

Introducing Kendall Riley, PT, DPT, who joined our Fremont team this week and will be starting MTI Physical Therapy’s Sports Residency program in January. Here’s what Kendall shared:

“I’m excited to be joining the MTI Physical Therapy team and to begin my career back in the Seattle area! I recently graduated with my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami and am especially passionate about working with athletes and active individuals of all ages and ability levels.

As a former Division I soccer player, I understand firsthand how important it is to stay active and how challenging the rehabilitation process can be when injury gets in the way. My treatment philosophy centers around understanding each patient’s individual goals and creating a personalized plan that helps them return to the activities and sports they love.

I was drawn to MTI because of its emphasis on one-to-one patient care, mentorship, and opportunities for continued growth as a clinician. I’m excited to continue developing my skills in sports and orthopedic physical therapy while helping patients build confidence and return to doing what they enjoy.

Outside of the clinic, you can usually find me staying active through soccer, strength training, or spending time outdoors. I’m looking forward to connecting with patients and becoming part of the MTI community!”

Did you know that pain, healing, and function are not only related to physical impairments, but are also influenced by sleep, nutrition, and our emotional state? In this month's blog post, Brian Tuchscherer, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, who practices right here in our Kirkland clinic, elaborates on how you can get the most out of Physical Therapy by taking into consideration these other factors that contribute to healing. APRIL THERAPIST OF THE MONTH: Bridgett Bonte-Chun, PT, DPT

Bridgett has been with MTI Physical Therapy since 2012 and practices out of our Kirkland clinic. Here’s what Bridgett has shared about her specialties and interests:

“I thoroughly enjoy working with the diverse range of musculoskeletal patients at MTI Physical Therapy. The most rewarding part of my job is learning about people I work with and assisting them to achieve their physical therapy goals. I am so lucky to be able to spend a full hour with each patient, providing one-to-one personalized care. I find that the individual treatment approach works well for specific patient education and empowers patients to have the tools to continue to apply what they have learned in PT for the rest of their lives.

In January, I finished a residency course in manual therapy with the Ola Grimsby Institute and I find that the principles I learned about clinical diagnosis, tissue healing, and exercise prescription applies very well to each patient I work with. I appreciate the strong emphasis that MTI places on continuing education and research.

Outside of the clinic, you can find me spending time with my husband and friends, running with my dog Brinkley, or exploring the Pacific Northwest.”

It's been 11 days since the fatal mudslide in Oso and relief workers are still on site working hard to bring some closure to families. While there has been a huge community response with donations for the victims, all of the relief organizations are now saying that what they need most is money, which can be allocated as needed. MTI Physical Therapy just made a donation to the local American Red Cross to support the relief efforts in Oso. We invite you to join us in supporting this local community. To find out how you can help, visit http://www.redcross.org/news/article/Red-Cross-Helping-at-Scene-of-Tragic-Mudslide.

American Red Cross is helping people in the state of Washington impacted by the tragic weekend mudslide, providing support and comfort as they deal with this tragedy and wait for information about their loved ones.

We will keep the collection bins up in our clinics until the end of March, so please continue to drop off your donations to help those in need in our community!

Do you suffer from headaches? If so, you won't want to miss February's blog post written by Rett Nicolai, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, who practices out of our First Hill clinic. It's all about types and causes of headaches and how Physical Therapy can help! Check it out: http://mtipt.com/got-headaches/

None of us enjoy having a headache. But yet, many people suffer from them daily. In the general population, headaches have a reported prevalence of 16%, where 5% of adults experience them on a daily basis (Castillo et al, 1999).…Read more ›
