🌿 BIG WIN FOR H**P — AND FOR THE PEOPLE WHO RELY ON IT!
Congress just voted 61–32 to move forward with a Continuing Resolution that includes an extension for h**p. That means the looming federal h**p ban will not take effect on November 12 as scheduled.
Why is this a win?
Because it gives the h**p industry something critically important: TIME.
Instead of allowing a sweeping ban to take effect, Congress now has additional time to work toward a sensible regulatory solution.
For now, that means continued access for consumers, more certainty for farmers and small businesses, and another opportunity to fight for regulation instead of prohibition.
We’ve said it all along:
Protect consumers. Keep products away from minors. Require testing and responsible labeling. Punish bad actors. But don’t destroy an entire legal industry.
This vote is proof that speaking up matters. Thousands of consumers, farmers, veterans, retailers, manufacturers, and small-business owners made their voices heard.
This fight isn’t over—but today, h**p gets to keep fighting. 🌿💪
Regulate h**p. Don’t eliminate it.
61-32 VICTORY for the h**p industry!
In a decisive 61-32 vote this moring, Congress passed the Continuing Resolution with the h**p extension intact, preventing a federal h**p ban from taking effect on November 12 and preserving a path toward sensible federal regulation through December 11.
This victory belongs to the thousands of farmers, small businesses, manufacturers, retailers, consumers, veterans, and families who took action. Over the past several weeks, h**p advocates across the country contacted their Senators, shared their stories, and made it clear that regulation, not prohibition, is the right path forward.
Because of that advocacy, access to lawful h**p products has been preserved, American jobs and businesses have been protected, and Congress now has additional time to develop a comprehensive federal framework that works for consumers and the industry alike.
While this is a major win, our work is far from over. The extension gives us something invaluable: time. Time to advance smart regulations that protect consumers, prevent youth access to intoxicating products, support farmers and businesses, and preserve access to lawful h**p products for millions of Americans.
Thank you to everyone who raised their voice and stood with us during this fight. Together, we cleared a major hurdle. Now, we keep moving forward. Stay tuned for next steps!
