It is beautiful to see God’s restoration in this full circle moment in this part of our testimony not only unfolding, but being platformed in a way that can reach others. 🙌🏾

Thank you dad for featuring this picture in your show. It made my 7 year old heart smile for the gift of this full circle experience and the time together in redemptive moments that the little girl in me could have never imagined the grown woman I am would get to have with you 🥰💐 it’s a joy beyond measure to see how far our story has come. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

As an LMFT who’s Dad was also Unprisoned after 20 years, it was important to me to watch this show and lend my voice to share my own experiences of what the “Unprisoned” journey from family incarceration to reunification looked like for me.

If you ever wondered what fuels my passion for the work I do with families, this show and my own family history in this area is a big part of my why.

Are y’all watching this show with us tonight? 🤗

Imagine being an LMFT who’s father was released from prison after serving 20 years of a life sentence and then seeing that Hulu created a show about an LMFT who’s father was getting out of prison after 17 years. 😱🤗🥳🥰

When I saw the preview I was so excited I had to send it to my sister because I knew we had to watch this show and talk about it!

This is not an ad, we just lived this for real so we will be watching along to see just how real Hulu kept it in capturing a story that we can relate to.

Our family’s testimony is so unique, that this is the first time I’ve ever seen this type of representation on tv about Black families experiencing where the Father actually gets to come home 🙌🏾 It was so rare to live it, so it’s so much more valuable to see this story depicted in media. 💛

So every Monday me and my sis will be chatting on our YouTube pages about each episode of , sharing our own experiences of growing up during our dad’s incarceration and the beautiful years of our family’s reunification after his sentence was commuted by president Hopefully we will get to bring some of our family members along too to share their experiences as well.

Happy Black History Month 🤗🤗🤗🤗 Imagine making Black History in real time with your family right in your local community! Check out the amazing work my dad is doing to bring fine art & creative expression to the city of Compton and ways we will be partnering our efforts in the therapeutic work I do as an to bring relatable urban Mental Health support to families all over Cali, and especially in our beloved Compton 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 We’ve come a long way from me being a kid impacted by a parent falling victim to to me now serving my community as a helping other families heal from the separation and mend through reunification. There’s so much more instore for us and the impact we plan to have in the community through this developing Art Center.
