“I just want to make things better for people experiencing homelessness. I know the only difference between me and them is that I have a safety net."

Meet the teams making our work at The Way Station possible and learn more about how you can get involved at the link below.

The Way Station opened in late 2024 after seven years of planning and pandemic-related delays. This one-of-a-kind facility is the result of a collaboration between local community health center Unity Care NW, nonprofit community action agency Opportunity Council, PeaceHealth, and Whatcom County.

Our staff had a pizza party during National Community Health Center Week thanks to Whatcom Community Foundation.

Their Health and Wellness grants help nonprofit staff enjoy a positive work environment and complimentary slices from local food truck brought smiles to a lot of faces at Unity Care NW.

Thanks for honoring our team, Community Foundation!

A man came in week after week, mentioning pain he couldn't shake.

Staff got him seen. A provider sent him to the ER. A Community Health Worker went with him and stayed until he got the help he needed.

That's the kind of care The Way Station was built to provide.
