Why do we love our Certified Organic Bay Laurel Essential Oil? 🌿✨

Because this beautifully aromatic oil is both grounding and invigorating at the same time. With its spicy, camphorous scent, Bay Laurel has long been valued in traditional herbal and aromatherapy practices for supporting wellness, clarity, and comfort.

Traditionally used to support:
🌿 Ear and sinus comfort
🌿 Muscle and nerve tension
🌿 Healthy circulation and warmth
🌿 Aromatic focus and grounding
🌿 Natural cleansing and purification

We also love Bay Laurel for its rich herbal scent — warm, green, spicy, and deeply comforting. A little goes a long way, and when properly diluted into a carrier oil, it makes a wonderful addition to massage blends and topical body care rituals.

As always with essential oils: dilute properly, use mindfully, and enjoy the beauty of the plant. 🌱 Link to view all our essential oils in the comments!

“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” — Cicero

At Em’s Herbals, we believe healing begins with reconnecting — to the earth, to knowledge, and to the quiet wisdom found in both gardens and pages. Whether you’re planting herbs, brewing tea, reading about plants, or simply pausing long enough to notice what’s growing around you… you’re already cultivating something meaningful.

What’s growing in your garden — or on your reading list — lately? 🌱✨

There’s something deeply satisfying about slowing down and making a pot of herbal tea from scratch. 🌿☕

In this video, Emily talks about why she prefers loose bulk herbs over tea bags, how to build flavorful herbal blends, and a few of her favorite herbs to keep on hand — including nettles, roasted dandelion root, spearmint, licorice root, elderberry, and more.

From choosing larger cut-and-sifted herbs for freshness and potency to properly steeping herbal teas for maximum benefit, this is a cozy little deep dive into the art of making tea part of your daily wellness ritual.

👁️🌿 Herbal Trivia Answer Revealed! 🌿👁️

Congratulations to Corey Michael Smithson for correctly guessing last week’s herbal trivia challenge! 🎉

All of the herbs we featured had one powerful thing in common: they’ve traditionally been used to support eye health and vision.

It’s CLEAR these herbs deserve a closer look 😉👇

✨ Bilberry — Rich in antioxidant anthocyanins, bilberry has traditionally been used to support night vision, healthy circulation to the eyes, and protection against age-related eye stress.

✨ Eyebright — A classic herb for eye wellness, traditionally used in compresses and washes to soothe tired, watery, or irritated eyes.

✨ Ginkgo Biloba — Known for supporting circulation and healthy blood flow, including to delicate tissues like the retina.

✨ Saffron — This vibrant botanical contains crocin and crocetin, compounds studied for supporting retinal health and visual contrast sensitivity.

✨ Fennel— Rich in Vitamin C, flavonoids, and beta-carotene. These antioxidants protect the delicate tissues of the eye from free radical damage and oxidative stress, which are major factors in macular degeneration.

✨ Elderberry — Packed with antioxidants and anthocyanins that help combat oxidative stress and support healthy eye tissues, circulation, and night vision.

✨ Lutein-Rich Herbs — Herbs like parsley, basil, thyme, sage, and marjoram contain lutein, a protective plant pigment that helps shield the retina from oxidative stress and blue light exposure.

✨ Goji Berry (Gou Qi Zi) — Traditionally used to nourish and moisten dry eyes while supporting long-term visual wellness.

Today, we take a moment to reflect with gratitude for those who gave their lives in service to others. Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom, community, and peace often come at a tremendous cost — and that remembering matters.

There’s something healing about spending time outdoors on days like today. Sitting in the garden. Listening to the birds. Feeling the warmth of the sun. Noticing the herbs and flowers quietly growing around us. Nature has a way of helping us slow down, reconnect, and appreciate what’s truly important. 🌱

Wishing everyone a peaceful Memorial Day filled with remembrance, gratitude, and time with the people you love. ❤️

One of my favorite things about traveling is slowing down long enough to really notice the plants around me. 🌿

I photographed this beautiful Gardenia while in Hawaii and just had to share it with you all. The scent alone is enough to stop you in your tracks. Sweet, calming, and absolutely unforgettable.

Gardenias have been treasured in traditional wellness practices for generations. Their aroma is known for helping ease stress, calm the nervous system, and encourage restful sleep. They’re also rich in antioxidant compounds and have traditionally been used in teas, skincare, and botanical preparations for their soothing properties.

But honestly? Sometimes the greatest benefit plants give us is simply the reminder to pause… breathe deeply… and reconnect with the natural world around us. 🌸✨

I’d love to see what plants YOU are noticing lately. Drop a photo of your favorite flower, herb, or garden companion in the comments! 🌿💚
