I have spent nearly thirty years in behavioral health and addiction treatment, and I still get the same phone call almost every week. A mother, a wife, a grandfather, a youth pastor. The voice on the other end is scared and a little embarrassed, and the first words are almost always some version of:

“Ruth Ann, what is this stuff? I found it in his truck. It came from the gas station.”
