Solid advice
A young woman once asked a Zen monk, “Why is life so hard?”
The monk replied:
Because we try.
We try so hard to be good, to be respectable, to be accepted. We keep striving to become something, to reach somewhere, to prove we are enough.
In all this trying, we tighten. We pretend. We resist who we truly are. We wear masks just to be seen, liked, and to belong.
We trade our truth for approval.
We silence what is real within us just to fit into something that demands a mask and calls it home.
But the truth is—you don’t have to try.
You don’t have to be good.
You don’t have to be respectable.
You don’t have to be accepted.
You don’t have to bow before others to earn your worth.
You only have to be real.
You only have to allow yourself to feel what moves you and love what calls you.
Because truth takes no effort.
It doesn’t need maintenance or performance.
It simply is.
And the moment the mask drops—even for a second—there is relief. There is ease.
Life becomes lighter, clearer, calmer, and more aligned the moment you stop fighting yourself.
When you stop fighting yourself, you stop leaking energy. Life feels effortless because the real you doesn’t need to perform. It doesn’t need to try.
The harder your life feels, the further you may be from your authentic self.
Authenticity is not a personality trait—it is a state of ease.
A gentle surrender into who you truly are.
A quiet resting as awareness itself.
A deep inner peace that remains, even as the world moves in chaos.
When you are rooted in truth, the chaos loses its power to shake you.
