Celebrate Men’s Health Month: 4 Ways to Take Charge of Your Well-being 🩺
Men often put their health on the back burner, but staying ahead of your health shouldn't wait until something feels wrong. From our care team at MCHHS, here are four simple, powerful ways to prioritize your long-term wellness today.
1️⃣ Get Your Numbers Checked
Preventative screenings catch issues before they start. Talk to your doctor about monitoring your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood glucose, and schedule age-appropriate screenings for colon and prostate health.
2️⃣ Fuel Your Body & Keep Moving
Small changes in your daily routine add up. Aim for 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week, and fill your plate with lean proteins, whole grains, and colorful fruits and vegetables.
3️⃣ Prioritize Mental Wellness
Mental health is physical health. Break the stigma by managing stress through hobbies, getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep, and speaking up when you need support. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
4️⃣ Ditch the Harmful Habits
Protect your heart and lungs by quitting smoking, limiting alcohol intake, and scheduling an annual physical to keep yourself accountable.
Your health is your greatest wealth—for yourself and the people who count on you.
