September is Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month

This month, Senior Life Enrichment (SLE) at Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems encourages our community to come together to remember those we have lost, support those who may be struggling and remind one another that hope and help are available.

On Thursday, September 10, we invite you to:
💜 Wear teal and purple to show your support for su***de prevention and awareness.
🕯️ Light a candle in your window at 8 p.m. in memory of a loved one lost to su***de.

Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is simply notice. Check on a neighbor. Call a friend or family member. Listen without judgment. Take concerns seriously. A simple conversation can make a difference.

Senior Life Enrichment provides compassionate support for adults age 65 and older experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, loneliness or other emotional challenges.

Together, we can shine a light on su***de prevention and remind those around us that no one has to face a difficult season alone.

September is Su***de Prevention & Awareness Month, an opportunity to strengthen connections, share trusted resources and encourage conversations about mental health at every age.

Checking in with someone, listening with care and helping them connect with professional support can be important steps.
