If you’ve lived in Central Oregon for any length of time, wildfire smoke has probably become an unwelcome part of late summer.

Once the smoke begins to clear, many people are surprised to find they don’t immediately feel like themselves again. Lingering fatigue, headaches, irritated eyes, congestion, scratchy throats, reduced exercise tolerance, or a persistent cough can stick around for days—or even weeks. That’s because wildfire smoke doesn’t simply irritate the lungs. It places stress on the entire body. Fortunately, recovery isn’t about finding a single miracle treatment. It’s about supporting your body’s natural healing processes from several different directions. Follow the link below to read more.

If you've lived in Central Oregon for any length of time, wildfire smoke has probably become an unwelcome part of late summer. When the skies turn hazy, we're reminded to stay indoors when possible, keep windows closed, wear a properly fitted respirator if we must venture outside, and pay attention....

Bloating after nearly every meal. A stomach that seems to expand as the day goes on. Constipation one week, diarrhea the next. Brain fog, fatigue, abdominal discomfort, and a growing list of foods that suddenly seem impossible to tolerate.

Many people living with these symptoms are eventually told they have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), yet they still don’t feel like they have real answers. Increasingly, researchers and clinicians are discovering that for many of these individuals, another condition may be contributing to their symptoms: Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, better known as SIBO. The encouraging news is that SIBO is something we can evaluate, treat, and—perhaps most importantly—investigate to determine why it developed in the first place. Read the full story below.

If you’ve ever suspected that certain foods are driving your chronic health symptoms, you’ve probably looked into food testing. And if you’ve done a modern food sensitivity panel, you might have received a confusing multi-page report telling you that you are suddenly reactive to thirty different things, including broccoli, almonds, and garlic.

There is a profound difference between a temporary immune response to food and an innate, lifelong metabolic incompatibility. To truly understand how your unique body processes fuel, we have to look past standard antibody testing and look at a foundational, time-tested approach: The Carroll Food Evaluation Method. The effects of a motor vehicle accident are not always immediately apparent. Even when imaging studies appear normal, underlying dysfunction involving muscles, joints, ligaments, and the nervous system can contribute to ongoing pain and disability.

Current evidence supports a comprehensive approach when it comes to accident recovery that includes movement-based rehabilitation, patient education, manual therapies, and collaborative healthcare. Early evaluation and appropriate treatment can help reduce the risk of chronic symptoms while supporting a faster return to normal activities. Read the full story below.
