You may have heard about QT breast imaging, a newer technology that uses sound waves to create breast images without compression or radiation. While the concept is promising and research is ongoing, it’s important to know that QT screening has not yet been proven to replace or match the effectiveness of mammography for routine breast cancer screening.

New technologies often generate excitement, and innovation in imaging is always welcome. But until long-term clinical studies demonstrate the same level of effectiveness, mammograms remain the most reliable screening tool available today.
