Our mission is to improve the health and wellness of the medically uninsured and/or critically underserved through the engagement of professionals, community partners, and dedicated volunteers. Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades (VIM) is a non-profit, free medical clinic, providing care to low-income, uninsured working adults in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson Counties in Central Oregon.

For the fourth year, Mosaic Community Health is partnering with Deschutes County Health Services and Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades-VIM to help reduce barriers to healthcare in Central Oregon.

The annual Health and Wellness Fair brings free health services, preventative screenings and community resources directly to Latino and Spanish-speaking families. The goal is to provide connections to care, in the language they speak, to address factors that impact health in our community.

Volunteers in Medicine provides healthcare to eligible adults in Central Oregon who do not have health insurance and have limited access to affordable care.

If someone you know has been putting off seeing a doctor, dentist, or getting the care they need because of cost, please share VIM with them. 💙

☀️ Central Oregon is heating up this week! As temperatures rise, taking a few simple precautions can help prevent heat-related illness.

Here are a few ways to stay safe:

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and a hat when outdoors.
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
🚗 Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
👵 Check in on older adults, neighbors, and loved ones who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

If you begin experiencing dizziness, nausea, confusion, or excessive fatigue, move to a cool place, drink water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and take care of one another this week! 💙

Volunteers in Medicine is currently seeking bilingual English and Spanish volunteer medical interpreters to help patients communicate with their healthcare team.

Medical interpreters play an essential role in ensuring our Spanish speaking patients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey. Your presence helps break down language barriers and creates a more welcoming, compassionate experience for those we serve.

Many health conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers, can be prevented or better managed through regular medical care and screenings.

At Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades, we're committed to helping uninsured adults access the care they need to live healthier lives.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration of freedom.

In less than two months, our supporters have donated over $400 in cans and bottles to our BottleDrop account!

Those donations help fund Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) for patients with diabetes, giving them the tools they need to better manage their health and avoid serious complications.
