I spent Fall Fest asking Bend how their feet were.
The consensus: TERRIBLE.

Foot pain, plantar fasciitis, balance issues, ankle instability—you name it, Bend folks have it.

That’s exactly why I created Energize Your Soles: Fitness for Your Feet, a hands-on workshop I’ll be leading at Bend to Balance over Halloween weekend.

Because if we stop moving, we stop living.

In class, we’ll use balance domes to wake up the muscles of your feet, mobilize the plantar fascia, and help you walk away feeling better, lighter, and more grounded.

Can’t wait until Halloween weekend? DM me for a Fitness for Your Feet Kit:
2 balance domes + a recorded virtual class where I lead you through the flow + a carrying bag.

Give your feet the love they deserve.

At Remedy, we don’t chase pain we figure out what your body is telling us.

Where you feel it isn’t always where we start.

Assess, don’t guess.

If you feel like you’ve tried everything and you’re still not where you want to be, start with a Sports Medicine Assessment at Remedy Sports Medicine. Link in bio 🔗

Pain matters. It’s just not the whole story.

For a lot of patients, pain is what finally drives them to seek treatment. It’s uncomfortable, disruptive, and hard to ignore.

But pain is also a signal — information your body is sending to your brain that something is going on. And if we only measure healing by, “Do I still hurt?” we can miss a lot of progress.

I had a patient recently tell me, “Well, I still hurt.”

So we looked deeper.

Can you sleep longer on that hip before you have to roll over?

Can you walk farther before the pain starts?

Can you tolerate more activity before symptoms show up?

When pain does happen, does it settle faster?

Is the intensity lower than it was before?

That’s progress too.

Today, another patient retested a dead bug exercise that had caused pain earlier in the morning. After treatment, she could perform the same movement with less discomfort.

Another had a jammed knuckle limiting her ability to make a fist. She still had some pain after treatment — but she could close her hand significantly better.

That’s why we look at more than pain alone.

We look at function.
We look at capacity.
We look at symptom intensity and duration.
We look at what your body can do today that it couldn’t do before.

Healing isn’t always “pain” or “no pain.”

Sometimes progress is quieter than that — and learning to recognize it can completely change how you experience your recovery.

We don’t just treat where it hurts. If we did we can miss something big, or often something small. Muscles getting weak, failing to stabilize, compensating for the pain. Little things can become big things when repeated for miles. That’s why we include an assessment, and reassessment with our regenerative medicine treatments. We want you to get back to your activities just as much as you do.

Every patient at Remedy Sports Medicine starts with a Sports Medicine Assessment.

Why?

Because I don’t just treat painful tissue—I figure out why it’s overloaded in the first place.

Today’s Achilles patient had done everything right: saw the specialist, wore the boot, did the PT…and was still in pain 2 years later.

A thorough assessment uncovered a biomechanical issue changing the way the foot and ankle moved irritating the Achilles Tendon.

We addressed that first which restored motion that hadn’t been there in two years. Then, we used EMTT, focused shockwave, and radial pressure wave to reinforce the changes and create the optimal environment for that painful tendon to start healing.

By the end of the visit, they performed their first single-leg heel raise in 2 years.

If we just treated without assessing we would have missed what was keeping this patient stuck.

Assess first. Treat second.

Have scar tissue? Calcific tendinitis?

How we treat it may not be how you think.

We do not "break up" scar tissue.

Not with a foam roller, lacrosse ball, Graston scraping tool, our hands - even Shockwave does not break up scar tissue.

As the acoustic waves of shockwave, magnetic pulses waves of EMTT, and light energy of laser enter the body they stimulate it to reabsorb the fibrous tissue of scars and calcium deposits on tissue.

Natural mechanical stimulation from these modalities help your body find a happy medium through remodeling and regeneration - not brut strength and blasting tissue apart.

Over weeks to months your body redesigns itself; changing the tissue, freeing up range of motion, decreasing pain, improving mobility, and even softening the look of the skin.

Is Scar tissue limiting your motion and rehab? Diagnosed with Calcific Tendinitis? Looking to accelerate your healing after surgery?

Day 2 of my jammed finger injury~
☀️ I woke up pain free with full range of motion which was great.
📉 But, by my 3rd patient things started to stiffen up and hurt

⭕️ I used EMTT which brought my motion back.
🔆Class IV laser for the pain and inflammation, and
〰️ Focused shockwave to target the injured joint.

Better, functional but not gone.

70% improvement in symptoms and able to treat a full caseload of patients.

Progress. One day at a time.

It was once thought shockwave was only appropriate when all other treatments have failed.

That’s simply not the case.

Research is showing shockwave, EMTT, and laser therapy are the best tools we have for soft tissue and bony healing.

That’s why I’m using them the day after jamming my finger.

My goal:
• Less pain
• More range of motion
• And the ability to work a full week with patients and hands on care.

I combined EMTT, focused shockwave, and class IV laser to accelerate my healing.

This approach helps:
✔️ Improve blood flow and tissue repair
✔️ Decrease swelling
✔️ Calm pain so motion can return
✔️ Create the environment the body needs to heal

One session:
– ~60% less pain
– Significantly improved range of motion
– Easier, less guarded movement

And, we’re only just getting started!

Strategic tissue therapy that supports real recovery.

Treat early, return faster.
