Birthday wishes are to me the most redeeming quality of this platform...it always warms my heart with such love and gratitude. It was a lovely day, though I think for many of us as we age, birthdays blend into seasons instead of just one 24 hour time period.
I feel I am entering a new season of rebirth after a difficult (but also incredibly rich and beautiful and valuable) few years. My friendships are deeper and more meaningful than ever, my work is ever more rewarding, and my creativity is stirring in a new direction that I'm feeling very excited about. But also, the most important to me right now, is the sweet and loving family I share with my dear partner. The early years are truly ass-kicking, and I apologize if to some of you, I've fallen off the map in the last 10 years while I continue practicing turning my focus inward on what's right in front of me, and letting go of all the things I "should" be doing, the places I "should" be going, all the accomplishments I'm passing by because I just want to enjoy nightly dinners with my littles and early morning cuddles and all the good things without stretching myself so thin that I cannot be present for it because I'm too damn tired, or overwhelmed, or anxious or what-have-you.
I feel I am finally, FINALLY, learning to embody this intention with more ease and trust in my daily life (repatterning a nervous system, societal conditioning, and ancestral legacies can be stubborn as hell sometimes!). I'm excited for what this shift will mean for me in the coming years, as I continue to let go of all the "shoulds" and keep following my own soul song, even when people think it's weird and don't understand it sometimes. My wish is that we all are able to release the "shoulds", the judgments, the regrets, the resentments and pain of old, outdated ways of being and keep moving forward in our own light and brilliance in the world. May we bring more love, acceptance, wisdom, patience, and trust into the world each day--trust that we ARE growing, learning, evolving, and building a better world for those who come after us
