This past at the Benton Manor was filled with fun and good company. We played board games in the market café, worked in the garden and had some great conversations and relaxation on the porch, enjoyed a little exercise and walking club competition, and some great entertainment courtesy of Justin Lightfoot, Red Freeman, and a very special appearance from the First United Methodist Church Dallas Youth Group Variations!
This week we’ll be busy with a very special birthday celebration, live music with Justin Case, a virtual trip to Vegas as we continue our great destinations travel trip series and a very special guest performance with Elvis!

Our Fridays will not be exactly the same anymore. Every Friday since the opening of the Benton Manor, Martha Jean has so graciously volunteered her time to come play the piano for all of us to enjoy and sing along to spiritual hymns. To say she was a dedicated staple would be an understatement. We’ve always been amazed that Martha being in her 90’s could still play better than most people could ever hope to play. For the last few months Martha has been inviting guests and bringing friends to help sing and play preparing as she said when she could no longer play. She knew any song and everyone looked forward to her visits. She had a truly remarkable talent.
Our sweet Martha Jean passed away this week. We will continue to have our Friday morning music and sing along every Friday in her honor but her absence will be missed by all. Those are big shoes and piano keys to fill but with help from all Martha’s friends we are determined to continue the special tradition she started.
Rest in Peace Martha Jean. May the Lord Bless and Comfort your family.
