Hello! My name is Ashlyn and I'm a licensed associate counselor in the state of Arkansas. No one is exempt from the struggles in this life.

I feel honored to be able to walk alongside others through these struggles and help them to come out stronger and more confident than ever. I practice using a cognitive-behavioral approach, while implementing solution-focused and person-centered modalities and interventions, as well. I've been blessed to be able to work with a diverse range of clients in a variety of settings, and look forward to working with more. I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, couples, and families. I'm currently accepting Telehealth and in-person appointments. Appointments are self-pay and I'd be happy to answer any further questions about that. I would be love to help you process and work through any and all things that you might be going through right now. Please reach out via email, text, or phone call!

Exciting news! 🥳🎉

I've officially (finally 😅) taken the step and turned my little practice into an LLC. While I've been seeing clients in private practice for about a year and a half now, I feel that it's important to really get established and feel grounded in an official capacity.

I did not come to this name lightly and I feel that this perfectly captures how I hope each and every one of my clients leaves my office each time feeling - strong and dignified. Thank you for your continued support in this journey - I only hope that I can give back to yours in some way as well one day. 🙂

Your body is talking to you - are you listening?

Do any of these struggles resonate with you?

🚩 Racing, worrisome thoughts that feel overwhelming sometimes
🚩 Feeling like you need to do something but don’t have the energy to actually start anything
🚩 Scrolling for minutes that turn into hours and you end up feeling less at peace than when you started
🚩 Spiraling in your thoughts (ex. “But what happens if _____ happens? Then that causes _____ then this, then this…”)
🚩 Feeling edgy, irritable, or overwhelmed more than you’d care to admit

Many of these struggles are NORMAL but when they get excessive to the point of affecting your daily life, then we have a problem. Acknowledging and referencing your circle of control can be one of the first and easiest steps to reign back in some of these worrisome thoughts and behaviors.

If nothing else, please know you are NOT alone and I promise - you are NOT the only one who has struggles. There is freedom is taking that first step towards healing! 🩷

Accurate. 🫠🙄

On that note, I’m currently credentialed with Medicaid (and PASSEs) and Cigna. I also see several clients on a private pay, reduced rate scale. I truly believe everyone deserves the help they need and I would love to be able to meet you where you are to best serve you.

You are worth it! 🩷

Oof.

This quote hit me hard today:

“If everyone in the world wrote down their problems and put them all in a hat, would you risk picking one up or keeping yours?”

How often do we get so wrapped up in our own worlds, our own problems, our own struggles that we inflate and magnify them instead of seeing them for what they really are? Most of the time - frustrating inconveniences.

Am I minimizing actual real struggles and difficulties? Absolutely not. Just food for thought today that maybe those things that started your day off so badly or those things you’re dreading after work might not be *as* earth shattering as we’re making them out to be.

You’re alive. You’re breathing. Today is a new day. Make it your own. 🩷

🎶 Music to our ears! 🎶

Sometimes we don’t recognize how wrapped up in our own thoughts and attempts to “think our way out of this” we get that we can’t see that stepping back, breathing, talking it out, and having outside, objective insight is exactly what we need.

Take a moment today. Breathe. Drop your shoulders. Relax your jaw. Be present.

I’m here for you if you’d like to talk. 😊

Oof. This one, folks.

I can’t tell you how many clients answer my question of “how do you reset? What does ‘me time’ look like?” With the response of “Well I just scroll (social media platform) and zone out for a couple of hours”.

Y’all. While you might *think* it’s relaxing to sit and scroll for hours, you’re truly not resetting or RESTING as your mind and body need.

Here’s my challenge: this week, when you feel the urge to sit and scroll, replace it with going for a walk, reading a book, journaling, listening to music, something that TAKES your time, but GIVES you peace and rest. 🩷
