The truth is only about 26% of ALL ADULTS meet the guidelines for both cardio and strength training. Which means the dads who are consistently training, eating better and taking their health seriously are already doing something most people aren’t.

But being a Strong Dad is about way more than just big muscles.

It’s being able to have energy to play after a long workday.

Being able to pickup your kids without your back giving out.

Being able to have confidence, patience, and presence to show up when your family needs you the most.

And the big thing…

Research has shown that parents’ and their habits can either positively or negatively influence their kids’ and their own habits. Meaning when your kids see you prioritizing health, training consistently, and taking care of yourself… you’re not just showing up for you, but setting the standard going forwards.

That’s why we train at GFP.

Not for the big lifts.

Not for the workouts.

But for the Strong Dads, strong families, and being the example at home.

So this month, train for more than yourself and is here to help you.

Here’s a simple way to think about some of your foods 👇

Protein helps us stay full + build/maintain our muscles.

Fiber helps us stay full + support digestion (and other things)

So when a food has the both of them? Chances are that’s a pretty good option right?

But what happens when it is on the other side of the graph???

It doesn’t necessarily mean they are a “bad” food BUT maybe pairing them with other options can turn it into a COMPLETE option.

And fun fact… a low protein + low fiber snack makes a GREAT option for some preworkout fuel - but we can talk about that another day 😉

Nutrition does NOT need to be as complicated as the internet might make it 🧠

So let’s talk simplifying the stuff that tends to get overthought, over-feared, or just straight up over-marketed.

TODAY’S REMINDERS:

✅ Good Protein Doesn’t Have to be Fancy.
Simple Rule: take the grams of protein multiply by 10. If that number is close to (or higher) than the total calories… it’s a solid option!

✅Diet Drinks Aren’t Automatically Dangerous
They’re well supported to help aid in fat loss, blood sugar regulation, and many other places especially when consumed in *safe* amounts. Most of the fear comes from extreme-dose studies, fear-mongering headliners, & people selling gimmicks. Dose makes the poison.

✅Organic Doesn’t Mean Healthier.
Organic chips are still chips. Cookies are still cookies. How they’re made may be different, but their nutrition and effect is the exact same. It’s a preference not a mandate.

The basics will always win!
