Abyssinia Birth Services I provide physical, emotional and informational support to expecting families through the childbirth Doula comes from the Greek word for "woman's servant."

My name is Sarah Abigail Ejigu, known affectionately as Abby, and I am a professionally trained labor doula. As a mother of three, I know first hand the excitement of growing a family, and the many questions that come along with it. It is my mission to empower mothers as they begin the humble work of parenting. I can help expecting families get a loving start by supporting the birthing mother with physical comfort measures, emotional reassurance and comprehensive information regarding options and interventions in pregnancy, childbirth and the immediate postpartum period. A doula is an independent contractor and works for you, not your caregiver or hospital. My home base is located in Berkeley, CA and I serve the San Francisco Bay Area community. Trained in the UK, Joseph has spent over 40 years fighting for safer births, especially for African American women, and through Commonsense Childbirth and her care model, The JJ Way, she's improving outcomes by centering dignity, trust, and access. In a country where African American women are three times more likely to die in childbirth, she's changing who delivers care and who survives.

Please watch! There are countless families who are vulnerable and in hiding. Mutual aid from their community members are sustaining them. They are all our babies. It should not be like this. We should have learned from history how wrong this is.
