Our communities are stronger because of the social workers who show up every day for individuals, families, organizations, and entire communities, often going far beyond what is expected to make sure people feel supported, heard, cared for and connected.

NASW Ohio Region 2 is accepting nominations for its annual awards 💚 This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the people and organizations making a meaningful difference right here in our communities!

Take a moment to think about the friends, coworkers, colleagues, agencies, community partners, and organizations you’ve encountered who deserve to be celebrated ✨ Because recognition matters and sometimes the people doing the most meaningful work are so busy caring for others that they don’t realize just how much their work is noticed.

⏳ The nomination deadline is quickly approaching on August 30 so please take a few minutes to nominate someone who is helping make our corner of Ohio a little more compassionate and connected.

Caring for a community has never been a one-person job... It takes a collective to care for a collective. 🌱 Check out the original NASW Ohio Region 2 post below for additional information and details.

🎓🌿 Help us celebrate Kaeley Schonhardt, MSW, LSW! 🌿🎓

We are incredibly excited to congratulate Kaeley on earning her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University ❤️🩶

Kaeley joined The Caring Collective with a strong foundation in supporting children, families, and communities. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University 🧡🤎 in 2024 and also holds associate degrees in Human Services and Criminal Justice, giving her a unique understanding of the many systems that can impact children and families.

Through her experience in community agencies, healthcare, case management, and school-based settings, Kaeley has developed a particular passion for working with youth and helping children and families navigate challenges, transitions, and growth. 💚 Her approach is compassionate, grounded, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, with an emphasis on creating relationships where young people feel safe, heard, and supported.

Kaeley is currently accepting new school-based therapy clients through The Caring Collective at:
🌱 Townsend Community School
🌱 Margaretta Local Schools

AND we have another reason to celebrate! 🎉 Kaeley has been nominated for the Sandusky Register 2026 Firelands Readers’ Choice “Best of the Best Awards” in the Mental Health Therapist/Counselor category! https://ogden.revfluent.com/bestof/og/0gl5v81241/lvn3r8prnd

The Caring Collective began welcoming clients into our Berlin Heights office one year ago!

This was all created after needing something different: behavioral health care that was trauma-informed, holistic, and grounded in the belief that taking care of people also means taking care of the people providing that care... an environment where clients could feel safe, heard, and supported while clinicians could practice in a way that valued connection, collaboration, professional growth, and their own well-being.

Over the past year 🌱 that little idea has grown.

As we worked with individuals, families, schools, professionals, and community partners, we continued to see needs that extended beyond what a private behavioral health practice could address... people facing financial or insurance barriers to care, families struggling to navigate resources, our rural communities needing greater access to mental health education, and a need to invest in and strengthen the behavioral health workforce itself.

Those experiences helped plant the seed for something NEW.

💚 The Caring Collective Foundation Inc. 💚

The Caring Collective Foundation is a separate nonprofit organization created to help lay the groundwork for healthier, stronger communities by expanding access to trauma-informed behavioral health care, strengthening connections to resources, investing in education and outreach, and supporting the people that make care possible.

The Caring Collective LLC and The Caring Collective Foundation Inc. are two separate organizations with different purposes, structures, and programs. However, what they share is a belief that healthy communities don't happen by accident. They grow when we intentionally cultivate the conditions that allow people to thrive.

So, as we celebrate one year of welcoming clients through the doors of The Caring Collective LLC 💜 we're incredibly excited about what has taken root and what is beginning to grow. 🌿 There is much more to come.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close 🌱 we’re reflecting on the many ways care extends beyond the therapy office.

This month, The Caring Collective LLC had the privilege of supporting mental health through advocacy, education, connection, and clinical care.

💚 We presented to community groups to increase awareness and reduce stigma.
💚 We participated in su***de prevention coalition meetings to strengthen community collaboration and support.
💚 We engaged in legislative advocacy efforts that promote policies impacting mental health and social work.
💚 We continued our professional growth through trainings focused on macro-level awareness, leadership, and enhancing somatic approaches to healing.
💚 We partnered with NASW Ohio Region 2 to host a Neurodivergent Social Meetup, creating space for connection, belonging, and community.
💚 Most importantly, we had the honor of walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they worked toward healing, growth, resilience, and meaningful change.

Mental health awareness is not confined to a single month. It is reflected in the conversations we have, the policies we support, the communities we build, and the care we provide every day. 🌿 We remain committed to caring for the collective through a collective effort by fostering compassion, connection, communication, and psychological safety.

🌱 Growing Together 🌱

Meaningful work doesn’t happen in isolation… it unfolds through connection, mentorship, and shared purpose.

Our interns aren’t “just learning” — they are actively shaping the future of mental health care. They bring curiosity, fresh perspective, and a deep desire to make a difference. 💪🏼 And in return, we hold a responsibility that we don’t take lightly:

✨ To mentor with intention
✨ To model ethical, compassionate care
✨ To create space for confidence to take root
✨ To nurture professional & personal growth

Through collaboration, our interns become part of something bigger 🌳 a collective that values their voice, supports their development, and walks alongside them as they step into their roles as future clinicians and leaders.

Because when we invest in growing strong, grounded professionals… we strengthen families, systems, and entire communities. 🌿

At The Caring Collective, we aren’t just training clinicians 🤍 we’re cultivating the next generation of change-makers!
