Pelvic Stability PT

Pelvic Stability PT My name is Elizabeth Stryker. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) specializing in pelvic health.

The pelvic floor plays a vital role in the health of the genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems of the body, yet symptoms of an improperly functioning pelvic floor may be difficult to identify, embarrassing to talk about, and dismissed by providers. Pelvic floor dysfunction can manifest as urinary leakage, constipation, frequent nighttime urination, and pain with vaginal inse

rtion, amongst other symptoms. I am passionate about empowering client to feel confident and in control of their pelvic floor. My goal when someone works with me is that they leave with a feeling of relief - that they have a plan, that someone listened to them, and that they will have the tools to help themselves!

I love hearing to stories of how this red light wand has improved people’s lives - from pain reduction, to bladder changes, to increased lubrication… Blanche had questions and if you have any, send them over!

Red light wands came on my radar 2 years ago and I have been really excited to see more and more attention given to their benefits

I have seen benefits with decreased pain, improved tissue elasticity, improved natural lubrication, tissue recovery and feeling some control over a situation that often times feels helpless.

Always happy to answer questions!

Pooping - put those feet up if you can! We were created to squat to p**p, high toilet seats put us in a way different position vs a squat - feet up gets us closer to that = relaxes the muscles that need to relax to get the job done! ✅ 💩

Caffeine increases bladder urge intensity.

Try drinking water with your caffeine.

Also… knowing it’s normal to have a stronger urge after a caffeinated beverage can really help our brains 🧠 calm. Try the urge suppression techniques. Rushing/running can lead to a spike in stress hormones/ leakage.

Instead… “oh hey strong urge, I was expecting you” and proceed accordingly

Happy Father’s Day! Hope your strong morning beverages amp you up for a great day and your bladder takes a backseat!

Pushing p*e out… could be from rushing, could be from habit, could be from tight muscles - starting to pay attention to this can improve bladder function quickly!

Questions? Let me know

Holding bladder in the 2-4 hour range does not increase the risk of bladder infection as far as I can find in the research.

Many many people have reached out about this. They have heard “hold it causes an infection” for parents, doctors, neighbors, mail people everyone.

If anyone finds evidence to the contrary please share! This study talks about holding it increasing risk but does not say for how long or to what capacity… so I don’t love it.
