Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

If you've ever struggled with thoughts of su***de, please know this:
You do not have to figure out the rest of your life today.
You only need to get through this moment.
Then the next one.
Then the next.

Reach out.
Tell someone.
Stay with someone.
Move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself.
And connect with professional or crisis support.

If you're worried about someone else, don't be afraid to ask the question.
"Are you thinking about su***de?"
You don't need to solve everything.
You just need to help them get through the next step.

Share this post. A few seconds of your time could put a message of hope in front of someone who needs it.

Being positive doesn't mean pretending everything is okay.

You can be grateful and exhausted.
Hopeful and scared.
Excited and anxious.
You can love your life and still struggle sometimes.

Mental wellness isn't about forcing yourself to see the bright side every moment of every day.
It's about making room for the whole experience.

Instead of:
"I shouldn't feel this way."
Try:
"I'm allowed to feel this way, and I can decide what I need next."
That's not negativity.
That's emotional honesty.

Save this reminder for the next time someone tells you to "just think positive."

Today is 988 Day—an opportunity to remind our community that mental health support is available during a crisis.

The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available when someone is experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, or a mental health or substance use crisis.

You don't have to wait until things feel completely unbearable to reach out.

And if someone you love is struggling, you don't have to know exactly what to say.
Sometimes the first step is simply connecting them with someone who can help.

988 = Call. Text. Chat.

Save this post. Share it with someone you love.
Knowing where to turn before a crisis happens can make a difference.

This week is National Su***de Prevention Week.

One of the most important things we can do is make conversations about su***de less frightening and less taboo.

If you're worried about someone, you don't have to have the perfect words.
You can simply say:
"I've noticed you've seemed like you're having a really hard time. How are you doing?"

And if you're concerned about their safety, it's okay to ask directly whether they're thinking about su***de.
Asking doesn't "put the idea in someone's head."
It opens the door for an honest conversation.

Sometimes the most important thing we can say is:
"I'm glad you told me. Let's get through this together."

Save this post. You may need these words someday—for yourself or someone you love.

September is a month of new beginnings for many people.

New school routines.
New schedules.
New goals.

But here's your reminder:
You don't have to become a completely different person just because the calendar changed.

Growth doesn't require reinventing yourself.
Sometimes growth looks like:
-Setting one boundary.
-Asking for help.
-Trying again.
-Taking a break.
-Going to therapy.
-Letting go of something that isn't serving you anymore.

You don't have to have everything figured out.
One small step counts.

What's one thing you're hoping to make a little more space for this month?

Friday Reflection: What Actually Helps You Feel Better?

When you're having a difficult day, what actually helps?
Not what should help.
Not what someone else says should help.
What works for you?

Maybe it's:
☕ Sitting somewhere quiet
🎧 Listening to music
🚶 Going for a walk
📱 Calling a friend
📝 Writing everything down
🐶 Spending time with your pet
🛋️ Doing absolutely nothing for a while
🧠 Talking to your therapist

There isn't one universal formula for taking care of your mental health.
Learning what works for you is part of the process.

What's one thing that helps you reset?
Share yours—someone else might need the idea today.

🎉 Happy 2nd Work Anniversary to our amazing Sara! 💛

Two years with Exhale—and even though she’s now serving our clients from beautiful Colorado, we’re so grateful that she continues to be part of our team! 🏔️✨

Her genuine care for her clients and the people around her is something we appreciate so much. She continues to show up, make a difference, and provide such meaningful care, no matter the miles between us.

We’re also cheering her on as she gets closer and closer to completing her supervision requirements and reaching that exciting finish line toward licensure! 🎓✨ We are so proud of all the hard work she’s put in and can’t wait to see what’s ahead.

Happy 2nd Work Anniversary, Sara! Here’s to two years down and many more wonderful things to come. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the Exhale family! 💛🥳

Recovery Month
Recovery Doesn't Look the Same for Everyone

Recovery doesn't have one appearance.
It doesn't happen on the same timeline for everyone.
And it isn't always a perfectly straight line.

Recovery can mean learning to live without a substance.
It can mean rebuilding relationships.
It can mean learning new coping skills.
It can mean asking for help after years of trying to handle everything alone.
It can mean choosing yourself again and again.

Wherever someone is in their recovery journey, they deserve dignity, compassion, and support.

This Recovery Month, let's replace judgment with curiosity and stigma with compassion.

International Overdose Awareness Day.

Today, we remember the lives lost to overdose.
We also hold space for the people who are still here.
For the families carrying grief.
For the people in recovery.
For the people struggling with substance use who may be afraid to ask for help.
And for the people who love them.

Substance use disorder is a health condition—not a moral failure.
Compassion doesn't enable addiction.
Compassion creates a place where people can be honest, seek treatment, and find a path forward.
Today is about remembrance, awareness, and hope.

Help us reduce stigma by sharing this message: People struggling with substance use deserve compassion and support.
