Too much summer sun can lead to more than just red skin. Sunburn symptoms can appear within a few hours after too much sun exposure and may include redness, pain, swelling, warmth to the touch, headaches, nausea, or even blistering. If you get sunburned:
☀️ Cool the skin with a cool bath or damp towel
☀️ Apply aloe vera or moisturizer
☀️ Drink extra water to stay hydrated
☀️ Avoid popping blisters
☀️ Stay out of the sun while healing
🚨 Seek medical care right away if sunburn is accompanied by high fever, vomiting, confusion, dehydration, severe blistering, or signs of infection. Don’t forget sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and shade are your best defense against summer sun damage!

Summer means more time on the road 🚗☀️With school breaks, vacations, summer jobs, and hanging out with friends, teens are often driving more this time of year. That’s why safe driving habits are so important. Talk to your child about always wearing their seatbelt, avoiding distractions, putting their phone away, and never driving under the influence. Even a quick glance at a text can take your attention off the road long enough to cause an accident. Safe driving saves lives. Make smart choices every time you get behind the wheel. 💙

A hernia happens when part of an organ or tissue pushes through a weakened area in the muscles or surrounding tissue. While many hernias occur in the abdomen or groin, symptoms can vary from person to person.
Common signs may include:
• A visible bulge
• Pain or pressure
• Discomfort when lifting, coughing, or bending
• A feeling of heaviness or weakness
Some hernias may not cause symptoms at all, while others can begin interfering with daily activities, sleep, exercise, or overall comfort. Although hernias are not usually dangerous, severe pain, nausea, vomiting, or sudden swelling can be signs of a medical emergency and should be evaluated immediately. If you notice unusual swelling or discomfort, don’t ignore it. Talking with your healthcare provider early can help prevent complications and determine the best treatment options!

Sometimes the smallest songs carry the biggest comfort. If your child struggles with tearful drop-offs, clinginess, or worries when you leave, they’re not alone, and neither are you! Separation anxiety is a very normal part of early childhood and often happens because children feel deeply connected to the people they love most. Songs like “Grown-Ups Come Back” from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood can help reassure little ones that even when parents leave for work, school, or errands, they always return. Building predictable routines, practicing quick goodbyes, and offering reassurance can help children feel more secure and confident over time. 💙

Staying hydrated does more for your body than just quenching thirst! 💧 Drinking enough water can help support energy, focus, digestion, joint health, and temperature regulation, especially as the weather gets warmer. Keep a water bottle nearby, sip throughout the day, and remember that hydration needs can vary from person to person. Small habits can make a big difference in how you feel.
