🌺🌴 A Successful Summer Cooling Lounge at Artis Senior Living of Potomac! 🌴🌺

What a wonderful afternoon of relaxation, music, fashion, and connection! Our Summer Cooling Lounge brought together our beloved residents, caregivers, families, and community partners for a Hawaiian-inspired celebration filled with smiles, laughter, and summer fun. 💙

🌿 Residents and caregivers enjoyed soothing aromatherapy and relaxation experiences, refreshing treats, and great company.

👗🌺 Our Community Luau Fashion Show brought tropical style to the runway as residents and caregivers showed off their colorful outfits, personalities, and aloha spirit!

🎷🎶 A special highlight was our outdoor live jazz music entertainment, where everyone could relax, sing along, move to the rhythm, and enjoy the beautiful summer atmosphere together. Music has a wonderful way of bringing back memories, encouraging connection, and creating joyful moments for our residents.

From relaxation to the runway and live jazz outdoors, the afternoon truly reflected what we value at Artis—meaningful experiences, purposeful engagement, and celebrating life together.

Our wonderful resident Queenie, together with her beloved family, hosted a beautiful Tea & Chat Program filled with smiles, connection, and meaningful moments.

Queenie has always enjoyed hosting and bringing people together, and we love creating opportunities for her to continue doing what she loves. With the support of her family and our Artis programs, she can continue sharing her gifts, traditions, and sense of purpose with those around her.

At Artis Senior Living of Potomac, play is more than having fun—it can be a meaningful opportunity to learn, relearn, and reconnect with familiar skills. 💙

This month, our Power of Play theme focuses on relearning occupational and everyday living skills through purposeful, hands-on experiences. From sorting, folding, organizing, gardening, creating, building, and other familiar tasks, our residents are encouraged to engage their minds and bodies while rediscovering abilities connected to their past routines and experiences.

For our Artis Residents, familiar activities can encourage memory recall, coordination, problem-solving, independence, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. Sometimes, the most meaningful learning is not about learning something new—it is about reconnecting with something that has always been part of who we are. 🌟

Through the Power of Play, we continue Honoring Yesterday, Celebrating Today—creating opportunities for our residents to say, “I can still do this!” 💙
