I am thrilled to announce that I will be speaking at the 2026 International Conference on ADHD this December in Baltimore! 🎙️

Connecting with colleagues, educators, and families is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I’m looking forward to sharing strategies and insights to help support individuals with ADHD thrive.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 5th! I’ll be presenting at 4:30 PM. I hope to see you there and connect with the ADHD community.

You can view the full agenda here: https://theadhdconference.swoogo.com/ADHD2026/agenda

POV: You’ve been staring at a messy space for three days, waiting for the "perfect time" to clean it.

Stop waiting for the "perfect time" and start building "micro-momentum."

If you're struggling to get moving, don't clean the room. Just pick ONE category.
Only throw away trash.
Only put away shoes.
Only collect cups.

By shrinking the scope, you bypass the "freeze" response. Once you’re in motion, your brain is more likely to keep going.

Executive Function 101: What is it, and why does it matter? đź’ˇ

Simply put, executive functioning is the control center of your brain. It helps you:

đź—“ Plan and prioritize.

đź•’ Manage time.

🧠 Hold information while working on a task.

🧱 Self-regulate emotions.

When these skills are strong, life feels a lot more manageable. When they’re a challenge, it can feel like trying to run a marathon without a map.

At The Heller Psychology Group, we’re passionate about providing the tools, strategies, and boot camps to help your family navigate these challenges effectively.

When a small challenge feels like a massive roadblock, your frustration tolerance has hit its limit. This is especially true when navigating things like executive functioning demands or chronic illness hurdles.

Instead of pushing through or walking away entirely, try the "3-Step Reset":
Pause: Literally stop what you're doing. Put the pen down or step away from the screen.
Breathe: Take three deep, slow breaths. This simple act physically calms your nervous system.
Visualize: Close your eyes and visualize a successful outcome for the task, then reset your focus and try again.

Mindfulness doesn't mean sitting still.

Movement meditation is a dynamic coping skill that helps reduce anxiety and stress by anchoring you firmly in the present moment. It’s a practical, actionable addition to your daily routine for a calmer, more centered self.

Does the nightly “Do you have any homework?” routine end in sighs, arguments, or late-night panic? 🤯 Let’s leave the mental overload behind.
Relying only on school portals like Canvas or Schoology leaves students keeping the actual “planning” part in their heads—which is exhausting, especially for kids with ADHD or executive functioning challenges.
That’s why Dr. Carey Heller .d designed this new homework tracking program. It automatically syncs assignments directly from Canvas, Schoology, and other major online portals, pulling everything into one clean, manageable space. No more logging into five different places or forgetting to write things down.
From there, it teaches students how to estimate completion times, reduce procrastination, and build independent planning skills. 📚✨
