I just saw another new patient with a case of what we are now calling chronic overlapping pain syndromes, which includes fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), migraines, and insomnia. The great news is that this condition is very treatable!

So glad to be attending the American Academy of Pain Medicine annual meeting in Scottsdale, AZ! New treatments for chronic pain on the horizon look very promising. We’re also finding newer and better ways to utilize our existing treatments for pain.

The last patient I just saw reminds me of how critical it is when treating chronic pain to address sleep disorder and mood- and anxiety-related issues. Since this patient has been sleeping better with my treatment, his pain levels have actually gone down!

Looking forward to beginning a new work week helping those with severe chronic pain looking to find cutting-edge solutions to their pain problems, including cannabinoids (medical ma*****na), ketamine, and low dose naltrexone. I'd love to explain to you how some or all of these various options may work for you!

If you are frustrated by seeing one pain doctor after another telling you over and over that you need "just 1 more" pain management needle procedure even after you have already failed so many before, then call me so that I can show you a better way!

Arizona, one of the hardest hit states for newly diagnosed COVID-19 cases, just posted 0 deaths yesterday. In general, their death rates have been exceedingly low for many days--long past the 18.5 day average in which individuals who succumb to COVID-19 will tragically die. This likely is due to multiple factors. Mostly younger people are contracting COVID. Treatment of COVID has gotten much better. It is also possible that COVID has mutated to a less lethal form, though this is certainly unclear. What is clear is that a low death rate from COVID is welcome news, and I hope that this low death rate continues until a vaccine is available to all!

I am so pleased to see that 2 of my patients this morning who have very severe and complex fibromyalgia diagnoses are doing so well with the treatment regimen that I designed for them. They are both back exercising regularly and living the functional and fulfilling lives they have dreamed of for so long! Call me so that I can help you achieve these same outcomes!

I am pleased to announce that I will be back seeing patients in my physical office space next week! I am looking forward to once again connecting with my current patients and new patients in-person! Of course, I will still also be seeing patients via telemedicine during this COVID-19 public health emergency. So anyone who feels that at relatively higher risk may choose to still engage in office visits in the comfort of his or her own home!

Telemedicine is working out amazingly well. It truly offers an avenue to provide desperately needed healthcare for patients during this pandemic. That being said, I am looking forward to being back in my regular office in (hopefully) the next couple of weeks!

The Covid-19 epidemic is a time of great change and anxiety for all of us. Anxiety is notorious for exacerbating chronic pain, and many of my patients are demonstrating an uptick in their pain as a result. This is exactly why I screen all chronic pain patients at every visit for the presence of anxiety, and treat any anxiety aggressively. With COVID-19, recognition of this is more important now than ever!

I want to remind all of those suffering with chronic pain who may be feeling that there is no one to turn to during this time of national emergency that I am maintaining full time office hours during this pandemic utilizing telemedicine. Call me right away to help you get on the road to a better and more fulfilling life of less pain.

Pandemic measures have limited access to resources, such as needle-exchange and safe-injection sites, that might reduce risk for users.

This Coronavirus pandemic will undoubtedly be a very trying and difficult time for all of us. However, my faith in the ideals and strength of this country has never been greater, and I know we will get through this together. And, at the end of it all, we will be even stronger as a nation!
