Last week, our community was filled with something truly special through the Grandkid Investigator Program, led by Isabel Tom.
It was so much more than an activity, it was a week of connection, laughter, friendship, and heart.
A simple “hi” became a friendship. A child shared a song he had just written while our residents proudly cheered him on. A 14-year-old shared cakes she learned to make during COVID and the beautiful story behind her passion. We created art, took silly selfies, laughed until our faces hurt, shared our talents, shared stories, and found comfort in one another.
One of the most beautiful moments was watching a resident who had recently lost a friend find a special connection and a little joy through a new friendship with one of the children.
Different generations. Different stories. Different experiences.
Yet, for one beautiful week, we were simply people connecting with people.
