C-section Recovery Phase 2: Weeks 2-6

Before you strengthen your core, you need to reconnect it! This is where most people go wrong. This phase is about repetitions and coordination.

Week 1: Protect and recover 0-2 weeks
This is NOT the time to “bounce back”
Instead focus on pain management, gentle breathing and short walks.

Save this if you’re newly postpartum or send it to someone you know who is newly postpartum.

This is one of the most common concerns I hear from pregnant patients. While tearing can’t always be prevented, preparation can help:
• improve tissue readiness
• reduce excessive strain
• improve control during pushing

Pelvic PT focuses heavily on relaxation + coordination, not just strengthening.
