🤕 Headache Awareness Month

A lot of people think headaches are just something they have to live with.

So they push through.
Take another pain reliever.
Wait for it to pass.

But headaches are often your body's way of telling you that something isn't working the way it should.

If you're getting frequent headaches, recurring headaches, or headaches that are affecting your quality of life, don't ignore them.

You deserve answers, not just temporary relief.

How often do headaches interfere with your day?

🌱 COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT 🌱

Health is about more than simply avoiding illness. It's about creating habits, making choices, and investing in yourself in ways that help you live life to the fullest. That's why I'm excited to recognize Local Wellness for their generous donation to the silent auction supporting my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

Local Wellness was founded on the belief that healthcare should focus on the whole person. Their mission is to provide holistic, doctor-supervised care that promotes overall well-being through personalized treatment plans designed around each individual's unique health goals and concerns.

Through services such as chiropractic care, massage therapy, functional medicine, hypnotherapy, cryotherapy, red light therapy, wellness lab panels, and natural weight loss programs like LiteThin, the team at Local Wellness helps patients take a proactive approach to their health. Their focus on reducing inflammation, improving function, and supporting long-term wellness empowers people to make meaningful changes that can improve their quality of life.

What I appreciate most about organizations like Local Wellness is their commitment to helping people become active participants in their own health journey. Lasting change rarely comes from a quick fix. It comes from education, support, consistency, and a personalized approach that helps people build healthier habits over time.

We're excited to feature items donated by Local Wellness in our silent auction during El Ritmo's Rhythm in Bloom event on Saturday, June 6. Proceeds from the silent auction will support my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley and the life-changing mentorship opportunities they provide to local youth.

Organizations like Local Wellness and Big Brothers Big Sisters share something important in common. Both are focused on helping people build stronger futures. Whether through improved health, personal growth, education, or mentorship, their work creates positive change that can last a lifetime.

Please join me in thanking Local Wellness for supporting both this fundraiser and our community.

Supporting local businesses. Supporting local kids. Strengthening our community together.

🌿 COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT 🌿

In a world that rarely slows down, taking time to rest, recover, and care for yourself can make all the difference. That's why I'm excited to recognize Five-Fold Massage for their generous donation to the silent auction supporting my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

At Five-Fold Massage, the focus goes far beyond relaxation. Through a combination of professionalism, skill, and individualized care, Theresa creates an experience that helps clients restore, recharge, and feel their best.

Offering services including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, cupping therapy, and hot stone massage, Theresa tailors each session to the unique needs of her clients. Whether someone is seeking relief from muscle tension, support for recovery, or a therapeutic massage experience tailored to their needs, her goal is to provide care that leaves clients feeling renewed.

When reading through client reviews, a common theme quickly emerges. Clients consistently describe their sessions as restorative, relaxing, and therapeutic. They speak highly of Theresa's ability to balance relaxation with treatment while creating a welcoming environment where people can truly unwind and focus on their well-being.

One of the things I appreciate about businesses like Five-Fold Massage is the emphasis on individualized care. No two people walk through the door with the exact same needs, and Theresa's ability to blend different techniques and tailor each session helps clients get the most out of their experience.

🦁 COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT 🦒

One of the most rewarding parts of this Over the Edge fundraiser has been seeing local organizations come together to support a cause that invests in the future of our community. Today, I'd like to recognize Niabi Zoo for their generous donation to the silent auction supporting my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

Founded in 1959 and later gifted to the community by Patti S. Wiman, Niabi Zoo has been creating opportunities for learning, exploration, and connection for generations of Quad Cities families. While many people know Niabi Zoo as a place to get up close to incredible animals from around the world, its impact extends far beyond its exhibits.

Niabi Zoo's mission is simple but powerful: "Working today to assure a better tomorrow for all living things." That mission comes to life every day through educational programs, conservation initiatives, and care for animals in need.

While most visitors know Niabi Zoo for the animals they can see, many may not realize the important work happening behind the scenes. In 2025, Niabi Zoo partnered with federal, state, and local agencies to provide refuge for animals rescued from illegal ownership situations, confiscations, facility closures, and other circumstances where animals needed immediate care. From monkeys and macaws to tortoises and fennec foxes, the zoo stepped in to provide safe, professional care for animals with nowhere else to go.

Niabi Zoo isn't just preserving the past—it's continually investing in the future. Earlier this year, the zoo was awarded a $527,800 grant from the State of Illinois to help fund new attractions and educational spaces, including a splash pad, dinosaur dig playground, and outdoor educational deck. These improvements will give families even more opportunities to learn, play, and make memories together while helping ensure the zoo remains a vibrant community destination for years to come.

We're excited to feature items donated by Niabi Zoo in our silent auction during El Ritmo's Rhythm in Bloom event on Saturday, June 6. Proceeds from the silent auction will support my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley and the life-changing mentorship opportunities they provide to local youth.

Organizations like Niabi Zoo and Big Brothers Big Sisters share something important in common: they help create a better future by investing in the next generation. Whether through education, conservation, or mentorship, their work creates a lasting impact that extends far beyond a single day or event.

Please join me in thanking Niabi Zoo for supporting both this fundraiser and our community.

🍷 COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT 🍷

One of the things I've loved most about this Over the Edge fundraiser is seeing how many local businesses are willing to invest in our community. Today, I'd like to recognize The Grape Life Wine Lounge and Cellar for their generous donation to our silent auction benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley.

While The Grape Life is known for its thoughtfully curated wine selection, it's much more than a wine store. Owners Jason and Rhiannon have created a welcoming gathering space where people can slow down, connect, and enjoy meaningful experiences together.

From live music and jazz nights to comedy shows, Wine Down Wednesdays, tastings, and special community events, The Grape Life has become one of the Quad Cities' premier destinations for bringing people together. Their intimate atmosphere encourages conversation, connection, and appreciation for the moment, something that's increasingly rare and incredibly valuable.

As a veteran-owned local business, The Grape Life embodies a commitment to service, hospitality, and community. Their support of this fundraiser is just one more example of the positive impact they continue to make right here in the Quad Cities.

We're excited to feature items donated by The Grape Life in our silent auction during El Ritmo's Rhythm in Bloom event on Saturday, June 6. Proceeds from the silent auction will support my Over the Edge fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley and the life-changing mentorship opportunities they provide to local youth.

Please join me in thanking The Grape Life for supporting both this fundraiser and our community. If you haven't visited yet, I encourage you to stop in, enjoy a glass, catch some live music or comedy, and experience for yourself why so many people love this local gem.

Thank you, Jason, Rhiannon, and The Grape Life team, for helping make a difference.

Supporting local businesses. Supporting local kids. Strengthening our community together.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to some incredible humans who stepped up in a big way during my April “Over the Edge” Calendar Fundraiser supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley:

Adam Chitwood
Saundra Pruitt
Bettinna Diaz
Beth Harrington-Scheckel
Makis Witt
Jose Burgos

Your generosity is helping create mentorship opportunities and brighter futures for kids right here in our community and that’s something worth celebrating.

Now… I’ve got a question for the rest of you 👀

Are you in for May?

I’m running it back with a May Calendar Challenge, and I want to see how many more people we can get involved this time. Same simple concept:
👉 Pick a day
👉 Donate that dollar amount
👉 Make a real impact

No pressure... (but also a little pressure 😏)
Let’s see who’s ready to step up, claim a date, and keep this momentum rolling.

Drop a comment or message me to lock in your day before someone snags the good ones.

Let’s go. 💪

For the month of April, I’m doing something a little different to help raise money for a cause that means a lot to me.

On August 22, I’ll be rappelling 11 stories down the Hotel Blackhawk to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley and yes… I’m still not great with heights 😅

To help reach my $1,000 goal, I’m doing a “Pick-a-Day” fundraiser.

Here’s how it works:
• Choose a number from 1–30
• Donate that dollar amount (ex: Day 12 = $12)
• Or grab multiple days if you’re feeling bold

Every donation goes toward supporting mentorship, stability, and opportunity for kids in our community.

To participate:
💰 Venmo:
📝 Put “Over the Edge” in the note

Once you claim a number, I’ll mark it off!

If you’d rather support in another way, sharing this post or cheering me on in August means just as much.

Every kid deserves a strong foundation.
Let’s build something meaningful together 🙌

I swear Midwest weather has commitment issues.

If the sudden temperature swings have your body feeling stiff or achy, it might be time for a quick tune-up. Remember, your body prefers consistency… even when the weather doesn’t 😄
