An evening exploring the intersection of AI, medicine, and human connection. We welcomed the Claude Community to Sydenham Clinic Beverly Hills for an intimate conversation about the future of healthcare.

Physicians, health leaders, and innovators came together to explore a new triangle of care: Physician + Patient + AI. The conversation focused not on AI replacing doctors, but on using it to give physicians more time for connection, prevention, and the deeply human parts of medicine.

Is berberine worth the hype?

One of the few trending supplements where the research is genuinely interesting. It can help control blood sugar and insulin resistance, support weight loss, protect the liver, and lower cholesterol and triglycerides, and some studies have compared it favorably to metformin.

It's underutilized, with few side effects. But "few side effects" isn't "none," and the right supplement depends entirely on you. Talk to your physician first.

You already make your own GLP-1. Here's how to support it, no prescription needed.

GLP-1 is the hormone that tells your brain you're full. It travels from your gut to your brain largely along the vagus nerve, so supporting that nerve helps the message land. Three ways to do it:

- Eat calm, not rushed. Eating between meetings or on the way to soccer practice keeps you stressed. A relaxed state keeps your body parasympathetic, which supports the vagus nerve.

Caught our Medical Director asleep at his desk. 😅

In his defense, doctors are chronically sleep-deprived, and Dr. Brittain (adambrittainmd) is the first to admit it. "Do as I say, not as I do."

Here's what he wants you to aim for: 1.5 hours of non-REM deep sleep a night. That's the restorative stage, when your body clears damaged cells, brings in fresh tissue, and repairs the brain. Skip it, and you wake up in a fog.
