Waking up a “dead” muscle after 12 years. ⚡️🦵
Post-surgery AMI (Arthrogenic Muscle Inhibition) meant my quad just wouldn’t fire. It’s incredibly frustrating when your brain tells your muscle to move, and it just... doesn’t.
Enter EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation). 🔋
I’m using the Compex 2.0 paired with resistance bands. This isn’t a TENS unit for pain; it actively forces the muscle to contract so I can rebuild strength.
📈 The Results: Just 3 sessions in, and I’m feeling remarkable improvement that I haven’t had in almost 12 years!
If you are struggling with post-op muscle activation (knees, back, shoulders), ask your PT or Chiro about EMS therapy. You can also purchase this machine online from Amazon for your home use. This is what I want to emphasize particularly also important for anyone having back surgery specially implant based operations for thoracic or lumbar spine and even cervical spine. Many patients end up with inactive muscle, and tight muscles in their lower back and even sometimes glutes and buttock muscles. This is very critical as part of the recovery. If you’re having trouble activating these muscles, please consider using EMS and talk to your surgeon and your PT or the Cairo providers.
