I do. Personally, at every follow-up. Recovery has its own rhythm — swelling settles, one side catches up to the other, sensation returns. When someone walks you through it, healing feels calm instead of uncertain.

Should you lipo your jowls?

Frequently, when I see patients for neck lipo to help with their double chin, they ask this question: “While you are there, can you lipo my jowls?”

The answer almost always is yes, we can, but should we? Most patients over 40 have some level of skin laxity, which runs the risk of creating hollow pockets if you lipo their jowls, even with skin tightening.

So, most of the time, I do a soft pass of lipo over the “jowls” to improve them as a side benefit of jawline contouring. But you should not sign up for this procedure if your main goal is to remove your jowls. Jowls = lower facelift. Not filler, not bigger cheeks, and not lipo.
