THIN UNDER-EYE SKIN? FILLER CAN MAKE IT WORSE.
Not all dark circles are caused by hollowness.
When the darkness is coming from very thin lower-eyelid skin, placing filler to superficially can make the area look worse, not better.

It may create lumps, contour irregularities, persistent swelling, or a blue-gray discoloration known as the Tyndall effect.

Filler can help certain types of under-eye hollowness when it is placed in the correct patient and the correct anatomical plane. But it does not treat every type of dark circle.

The first step is figuring out what is actually causing the darkness.

Stop listening to the fluff in the aesthetics game. 🛑💉
Too many patients are being sold whatever feels comfortable doing, whatever makes the most profit, or whatever the latest social media hype is. Too much bias and fluff.
The truth? Not every face needs filler. Not every eye needs a blepharoplasty. Everything has its proper place. Ignore the hype, get educated, and ask for an honest diagnosis, not a sales pitch. 💯

Subtle changes around the eyes can make a major difference 🔥

As an Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon, lower eyelid surgery is one of the areas I specialize in. This is a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning - a hidden incision approach designed to improve under-eye bags and smooth the eyelid-cheek transition without an external skin incision.

Tap the bookmark and SAVE this if you’re planning eyelid surgery! 🔥

Most patients know to ice after eyelid surgery - but many don’t know when to stop 🛑

In general, icing is most useful during the first 48–72 hours after blepharoplasty to help with swelling and bruising. After that, many surgeons switch patients to warm compresses to help circulation and healing ❤️‍🩹

Important exception: if you had fat transfer, you may be told not to ice that area.

Always follow your own surgeon’s instructions, because every case is different.

Watch this before you spend another dollar on your under eyes.

This is why your eye cream isn’t fixing your eyebags.

Eyebags, puffiness, wrinkles, loose skin, and under eye hollows are not the same problem – so they don’t have the same solution.

Before → 1 week → 1 month → 1 year

Customized Upper Blepharoplasty isn’t just about removing extra skin.

When done well, it can make the eyes look more open, less heavy, and more refreshed - without changing who you are.

For many patients, it also helps makeup sit better, makes the eyelid crease more visible, and can reduce that tired or weighed-down look around the eyes.

At Week 1 you are healing, at Month 1 you are both healing and settling, Month 3 the majority of healing and settling is finished, and Year 1 shows the lasting result.
