Is it the product or the placement?
As the world of aesthetics and especially bio-stimulating treatments evolves, so does our responsibility to continue these discussions. This female patient had her neck treated with Sculptra, a treatment that should have been placed superficially. Unfortunately this patient was injected in the incorrect plane resulting in this nodule formation (as with majority of them in my opinion) that had to be surgically removed. This patient had spent 1.5 years not knowing what her treatment options are or if they even exist.
This is why Knowing anatomy is just step one, but applying that knowledge to each unique patient is what truly makes that knowledge valuable. Continuous education, training, and conversation helps us prevent complications and manage them when they arise. Complication prevention & management are key collaborators in the knowledge of anatomy, as well as informing your patients of how to recognize these complications, if they are to form!

It was an honor to help bring life to, and launch the new Contour double layer indication for temples. This year has been so impactful for advancement of this industry, with this new indication being so long in the making. With temples being considered one of the more high-risk areas of injection, it has been an absolute honor to train and teach numerous providers about temple anatomy. However, to be chosen to lead the Cadaver Anatomy Lab this past weekend to train the phenomenal .usa Trainers, was the ultimate highlight.

I am so lucky to work alongside such brilliant minds who have worked endlessly to make this launch happen. A huge thank you to and so many more at Galderma, for all your hard work.
