One of the most common concerns patients mention immediately after a face or neck lift is a feeling of tightness in the face and neck. In reality, this is a completely normal part of the healing process and often a reassuring sign that the tissues are healing exactly as expected.

This sensation is most commonly felt along the lateral face and the front of the neck during the early stages of recovery. Following surgery, the skin and deeper supportive tissues have been repositioned and tightened, while post-operative swelling can also contribute to that firm, tight feeling.
