Cooling Centers Available in Vincennes

With dangerous heat expected, several locations in Vincennes are open to provide a safe, air conditioned place to cool off.

Cooling Centers:
• First City Sunrise Shelter
• Vincennes Public Library
• STOA
• Thursday Church
• Margaret Compton Center Salvation Army And Many local Churches

Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and those without reliable air conditioning. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on neighbors, friends, and family members who may be at risk.
Need additional resources or another cooling center? Call Indiana 2-1-1 by dialing 211 or 1-866-211-9966. They can connect you with cooling centers, utility assistance, food resources, and other community services.
