You’ve done so many things right but if your hips barely rotate, your performance won’t be what it could be.

One of the biggest things I find in golfers is hip stiffness. And when your hips stop rotating, your lower back starts twisting more than it should.

“I used to think massage was a luxury.”

A client told me that today.

Years ago, she saw massage as something you did on vacation or as an occasional treat.

If your feet or ankles hurt, the problem may not actually be in your feet.

One of the most overlooked causes of foot and ankle pain I see in my massage practice, is tight calf muscles.

Specifically the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles can become tight and develop hyperirritable spots (also known as trigger points), reducing your ankle's ability to move freely. This tightness can also interfere with normal circulation and fluid movement, causing your feet to ache, and be swollen at the end of the day.

During treatment, the biggest tell tale sign of tissue dysfunction is when the tissue feels hardened and thick. Trying to release it usually feels more tender than the rest of the muscles but, by releasing these restrictions many of my clients are surprised they now can:

+ Walk with less discomfort
+ Move their ankle more freely
+ Feel less tightness in their feet
+ Stand longer with greater comfort
= Better quality of life❤️

CLIENT TRANSFORMATION ✨

Pain is exhausting.

Not just physically BUT EMOTIONALLY as well.

When you're in pain long enough, it starts to change the way you live.

You stop turning your head because it hurts. You stop playing with your kids because you're afraid you'll pay for it later. You dread getting out of bed in the morning because you already know what your body is going to feel like. You become irritable, tired, discouraged, and sometimes even hopeless.

I've seen people who have quietly adjusted their entire lives around their pain without realizing how much it's costing them. It’s a perpetuating cycle that people feel stuck in.

So many people live with pain for so long that they start believing it’s just “normal.”

The throbbing. The swelling. The aching feet at the end of the day. The stiffness when you wake up.

Then they finally experience what their body is supposed to feel like again after a massage.

To me massage isn’t just about relaxation, it’s therapeutic. It’s about helping your body move better and function better so your pain is reduced and you’re not swollen.

“My doctor said the surgery was successful… so why does my body still feel so tight?”

This is a conversation I have more often than you might think. And it’s truly saddening because many people have surgery hoping to reduce pain, improve function, or improve their quality of life.

Here’s the missing piece: scar tissue mobility. Because without it, scar tissue becomes thick, restricted, and doesn’t move well with the surrounding muscles and fascia.

“She said, ‘I thought this was just how getting older felt.’”

Her walking had slowly changed over time.

Both feet rotated outward.
