July brought three precious babies into our care—two sweet boys and one beautiful little girl.

Not every birth story unfolds the way we hope or expect. As midwives, we prepare for healthy pregnancies, full-term births, and the joyful sound of a baby's first cry. But sometimes, God's plans are different than our own.

This month, we had the profound privilege of walking alongside a family as they welcomed their daughter, born sleeping at 20 weeks. Though her life was far too short, she was deeply loved, perfectly made, and incredibly beautiful. She knew only the warmth of her mother's womb and the endless love of her parents.

It is one of the greatest honors of this calling to not only celebrate new life, but to also hold space for families experiencing unimaginable loss. Birth is still birth. A mother is still a mother. A father is still a father. And this precious little girl will forever be their daughter.

To this sweet family: thank you for trusting us to care for you during one of the hardest days of your lives. We will always remember your beautiful daughter.

This month we celebrate three babies—two who were born at home into their parents' arms, and one who came home in their parents' hearts. Each life mattered. Each birth mattered. Each family holds a forever place in ours.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18 🤍

My hope is that this honors the family without sharing details that are too personal while also acknowledging that this little girl's life was every bit as valuable and worthy of remembrance as the other babies born in July.

June welcomed two beautiful baby girls into the world. 💕

Some weekends leave you completely exhausted... and completely full.

Friday night, we had the privilege of welcoming one precious little girl into her family's arms. Saturday night, another sweet baby girl made her entrance. Two beautiful births. Two incredible families. Two reminders of God's faithfulness and the miracle of new life.

In between those births, I got to spend Saturday and Sunday doing something equally precious—being Mom.

I traded my birth bag for my "moto-mama" hat and spent the weekend cheering on my son at the motocross track. 🏁❤️

People often ask how I manage being a mom while being on call as a midwife. The honest answer is that there are sacrifices. Birth doesn't happen on a schedule, and there are moments I have to leave my own family to serve another.

But every once in a while, God gives me weekends like this.

The beauty of nighttime births meant I didn't have to miss the daytime memories. I was able to witness two babies take their first breaths and still spend the daylight hours cheering from the sidelines as my son chased his dreams.

I'm continually humbled that the Lord has called me to both of these roles. Neither is something I take for granted. Being invited into such sacred moments with growing families while also getting to be present for my own family is a gift I will never stop thanking Him for.

Congratulations to these two wonderful families on your beautiful daughters. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you as you welcomed your little miracles into the world. It is truly one of the greatest honors of our lives. 🤍

May was a beautiful month at Willow & Sage.

We had the honor of welcoming 4 sweet babies earthside this month — 2 precious boys and 2 beautiful girls. Every birth story is so unique, sacred, and deeply humbling to witness. Watching families grow never gets old.

To the mothers who trusted us, the partners who supported so fiercely, and the babies who made their grand entrance into the world this month — thank you for allowing us to be part of such life-changing moments.

What a gift it is to serve women and families in this season of life.

Welcome earthside, little ones. You are already so loved.

Motherhood is the highest calling on my life. Of all the things I have accomplished, nothing compares to the honor of being entrusted with the lives of my children. God chose me to be their mother (and bonus mom) and I will never take that responsibility lightly.

I am far from a perfect mom, but every day I strive to be intentional, kind, approachable, loving, and present for them. I pray they always know they are deeply loved and fiercely protected.

Being their mom has shaped me, refined me, humbled me, and blessed me in ways I could have never imagined.

And somehow, God also allowed me the incredible honor of witnessing other women become mothers too. What an incredible honor it is to stand beside women as they step into motherhood for the very first time or welcome another baby into their arms. Being a midwife is truly the second highest calling on my life, and I am endlessly grateful for the families who trust me in such sacred moments.

And today, I also want to say Happy Mother’s Day to my own mom. Thank you for your love, your sacrifices, your support, and for helping shape me into the mother I am today. I am grateful for you every single day.

April brought us three beautiful reminders of just how sacred this work is.

We had the honor of welcoming two sweet girls and one precious boy into the world this month. Each birth so unique, each family so strong, and each baby so deeply loved already.

There is something so humbling about being invited into these moments—watching women step into their strength, partners into their support, and families into a brand new chapter.

To our April families… thank you for trusting us, for allowing us to walk alongside you, and for letting us witness such powerful, life-changing moments. It never gets old.

Welcome to the world, little ones.

“Watchful waiting.”

This is how I often describe midwifery care.
Not passive—but deeply intentional.

Listening closely.
Watching carefully.
Waiting patiently.

Trusting the physiology of birth—the way God so perfectly designed a woman’s body to grow, labor, and bring forth life.

As midwives, we are trained to recognize when to simply hold space… and when to step in. But most of the time, our role is to protect what is normal.

To create an environment where a woman feels safe, supported, and seen—because we know that safety allows the body to do exactly what it was created to do.

It is an honor to stand in that space.

So excited to meet this sweet baby. Her mama is incredible.

There’s something so bittersweet about 6 week postpartum visits 🤍

On one hand, it means your body has done something incredible—healing, adjusting, nurturing new life. It means you’ve found your rhythm (or are starting to), and you’re stepping into this next chapter with your baby.

On the other hand… it’s often the last routine visit we have together. No more regular check-ins, no more sitting together talking through the highs and the hard parts, no more watching your confidence grow week by week. Saying goodbye to these families is never easy.

Being invited into such a sacred season of life—pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—is something I will never take for granted. Walking alongside you, witnessing your strength, and caring for you in such an intimate time is truly the greatest honor.

I have the best job. What a calling this is on my life.

Thank you, Jesus, for blessing my life so abundantly 🤍

March brought us three beautiful births… and all three were sweet baby boys 💙💙💙

Each birth so different, yet equally powerful. Watching families meet their babies never gets old — the quiet strength, the emotion, the transformation that happens in those moments is something I will never take for granted.

To the families who trusted Willow & Sage to walk alongside you during such an intimate and life-changing time — thank you. It is truly an honor to be invited into your stories.

Welcoming three little boys into the world this month felt extra special ✨
