It’s that time again! Help me congratulate our July Employee of the Month, Joletta Chee CMA!! She’s everything wrapped in one and it’s amazing. Letta has truly been an asset to our home. She picks up extra shifts and helps when and where is needed no matter what it is, seamlessly. Happily with a smile. She was nominated for her eagerness to do what’s needed for our residents, her contagious aura, being reliable & punctual, pays such close attention to her residents to delicately address the little things which matter more than most realize, is a JOY to work with (this is a beautiful thing to enjoy your coworkers), and my favorite nomination she’s great to work with and has great taste in music! 😂

We are grateful to have her on our team and as such a great addition to our ‘home’. Some of these things might seem minor but in the long run it’s these minor details that help us make our residents house a home. A loving home with a lot of joy, laughter, and fellowship between coworkers. This month we honor YOU Letta and the mark you’ve left on our home. Thank you for all that you do and i hope that this shows you that none of it goes without notice 🩷 Congratulations!!

I’m a tad bit late as life as a Director of a Nursing of a Nursing Home is very heavy and chaotic at times but i can’t let time pass without acknowledging the backbone of our “home”. June 11th-17th is a week that acknowledges one of the most important roles in a nursing home and I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the ones i am grateful enough to call mine.

To each and every one of my CNAS, past and present, from the bottom of my heart:

There are not enough words to truly express the gratitude I have for you all.

You are the first smile many of our residents see in the morning and most of the time the last reassuring voice they hear before closing their eyes at night. You provide comfort during difficult days, celebrate victories both big and small, and offer dignity, compassion, and kindness when it matters the most.

The work you do is far from easy, i see you every day. Even when you think i don’t or can’t see you, i promise you that i do. You answer call light after call light, assist with intimate personal care, hold hands during moments of fear, wipe away tears, share laughter, and show up day after day, even when you’re tired and fighting your own battles. Many will never fully understand the physical, emotional, and mental demands of your role, but I see it. I see you.

I see the sacrifices you make.
I see the love you pour into our residents day after day even in times you have very little left in you to give.
I see the moments when you put someone else’s needs before your own.

You may not realize it when you’re helping someone get dressed, brush their hair, answering another call light, sitting beside a resident who is scared, or simply listening to a story you’ve heard a hundred times before but still acknowledging it as if it were the first time all over again. But those moments matter. Those moments change lives. When you leave that room, they are better than when you first walked in. I see that.

You are often the reason a resident smiles.
You are the reason someone feels safe.
You are the reason a resident feels seen, heard, valued, and loved.

Long after tasks are forgotten and schedules change, people remember how you made them feel.

Our residents’ lives are better because of you. Their days are brighter because of you. This facility is stronger because of you. We stay afloat because of you.

As someone who’s spent many years in long term care and witnessed many different homes and functions of homes, i want to acknowledge my team, my nurse aides, what WE have done and what WE have built. All of this took your heart and your sacrifice and efforts. From the very bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your selflessness, your patience, your compassion, and your unwavering dedication to caring for others. The work you do is more than a job, it is a calling, and it leaves a lasting impact on every life you touch.

What a beautiful thing it is to have the opportunity to be a small chapter of our residents lives, for some, the last things they encounter/remember for the last moments of their earthly home. That alone is such a blessing.

This week, and every week, we celebrate you.

Happy (belated) National CNA Week. Never underestimate the difference you make. Even on the days when you can’t see it, you are changing lives. I see you. & i will do my very best to continue to acknowledge and show how much we appreciate the very backbone of our home. ❤️

On behalf of myself and the others on our team, we say THANK YOU.

- Jessica, DON. 🫶🏼

It's that time again!!! Congratulations to our Employee of the Month for the month of June, Rhonda East one of our kitchen cooks who spoils us all rotten!! She had many nominations and it was very enjoyable to read all the amazing things her peers had to say about her. She was nominated for "always smiling, super sweet, goes above and beyond for staff and residents, one said she is cool as a cucumber (LOL), one person reported that they appreciate how she always thinks about the evening and night shift crew to ensure they are taken care of as well, shes pleasant and makes sure that her residents and staff are well fed, always in a good mood, she works hard and is creative and attentive when it comes to the specific needs of the residents, she also never misses work is dedicated to our home, and picks up extra shifts to ensure adequate staff is present for the residents every day needs. Rhonda, on behalf of us all, thank you for all that you bring to our home and I hope this shows you that you are not only seen but also appreciated and valued! Congratulations!!

We experienced a week of enjoyable activities, including a water day hosted by RCH, a cooking class where a yummy pasta salad was made, and baseball, which stood out as particular highlights. Spending time together is important to us, and we are excited for more summer activities. We wish a wonderful weekend to all.

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month for the month of May, Melissa Kruschke, CNA!! Melissa’s nominations really stuck out. Her peers had many kind things to say about her they said she comes to work smiling, is always smiling, and helps where needed without hesitation. She’s reliable and dedicated. Melissa has stayed over past her shift, come in early, and picked up additional shifts when needed. She does this because she cares for the residents and because she’s loyal to her teammates. That is such amazing quality to have in your coworkers. My favorite nomination was that she’s such a good hard worker and “when i see her name on the board i know it’s going to be a good shift”. Melissa we are so proud of you and THANK YOU for your hard work and what you bring to our home! Congratulations!!

Congratulations to our April Employee of the month, Ashton Dickson LPN!!
Ashton made the bold decision to step into long term care and i think she’s seeing just how powerful she is in this realm. Ashton was nominated for many reasons. The residents love her and so do her staff. She leads with light, positivity, and gentle guidance. She is always happy and smiling, always willing to step in and help when needed no matter what is needed, & cares deeply for her residents. She is one that sits and listens and comforts & for many of these residents that’s a huge deal! Congratulations Ashy, we are so lucky to have you on our team!
