Our SLPs Sarah and Sydney had the honor of being invited to learn from Dr. Zaghi and the breathe_institute last night. It was an amazing night learning about tongue ties, airway implications, root causes, nasal breathing, airway space, assessment, dentition and palatal growth, and so much more. He solidified and reaffirmed so much that they already know and practice - while providing so much new information! His knowledge, passion, and dedication to this field for not only patients but helping to train professionals is incredible.

Thank you to Sue Shoha and Bio Dentistry MI for hosting this incredible evening and congratulations on your official addition as an affiliate Breathe Institute provider! Patients are lucky to have you here in MI!

Hey friends! We’re excited to offer something new in Birch Run this weekend 💙

💡 What is Craniosacral Therapy?
It’s a very gentle, relaxing therapy that helps calm the nervous system and release built-up tension in the body. Many people don’t realize how much stress or strain the body holds—especially babies, kids, and busy adults. CST works to restore balance so the body can function and feel better naturally.

👶🧠 Families often seek it out for:
• Feeding or latch issues
• Frequent ear infections
• Headaches or jaw tension
• Sensory challenges or anxiety
• TMJ and neck tension

We’re especially excited to connect with local families and our pediatric therapy community!

Oral ties - restricted tissue that impacts feeding, speech, facial development, and airway development. Oral ties can cause issues at all stages, from newborn to adults, but the key is getting an evaluation from a trained provider! It takes looking at the severity of the tie and FUNCTION of the tongue, lip, cheeks, and jaw to determine how skills are impaired and need to best be addressed. If you see tissue similar to this in your infant, please reach out to schedule an evaluation!

Your baby can't speak - but there will be signs! I full believe everything a baby does is to convey some type of message, and when they're struggling with feedings there will be symptoms to let you know! If your child is experiencing any of these, please reach out and message me to learn more or schedule an evaluation!

Improving resting posture, strength, coordination, lip closure, nasal breathing, and speech takes time....but these kiddos who start early impress me every single time! We work on fun, targeted, movements for their mouth to help make big changes. Sometimes it can be hard to see the big picture and how these little changes in how the mouth moves or operates helps, but when a tongue is stronger and coordinated, resting against the palate, cheeks are strong, and lips are strong and coordinated to seal effortlessly - then the mouth can establish long lasting habits to support nasal breathing, facial and jaw development, quality sleep for rested bodies to engage and learn, and improve speech intelligibility too! Curious if your child may benefit from myofunctional therapy or speech therapy targeting oral placement and building strength/coordination? Reach out to chat!
