On May 19, the Birmingham VA Health Care System proudly recognized the dedicated volunteers who serve Veterans across our health care system during our annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. Collectively, our 109 active volunteers have contributed nearly 70,000 hours of service—making a difference in the lives of Veterans every single day.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer may visit https://www.va.gov/birmingham-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or-donate/ or call 205-933-4396 to learn how you can help.

On Memorial Day, we honor all who gave their lives defending our nation. Their sacrifice is remembered, today and always.

Veterans, their families, caregivers, survivors and the public are invited to honor fallen service members by attending ceremonies held nationally and locally.

We pause to pay tribute to their patriotism.
