On August 31st, I marked one year as a full time social entrepreneur. Between classes, events, and everything in between, we've been busy in the best way, and I'm still in awe of how far The Pulse Finders has come.

This year we launched our website, certified over 300 people across the Birmingham area in CPR/AED, and were named a City of Birmingham BOLD Grant recipient. We received the Impact Award from The Birmingham Promise, welcomed student interns, partnered with the UAB Barefield Entrepreneurship Program, and grew our team of staff and volunteers, just to name a few..

Thank you to everyone who trained with us, partnered with us, and believed in our mission. Every certification means one more person ready to save a life.
Year two of full time is just getting started, and our 7 year anniversary as a business is coming up soon.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month begins one week from today. CARES data show that in 2025, 42.5% of cardiac arrest patients received bystander CPR, while 13.9% had a bystander-applied AED in a public setting.

This October, we’ll share more about the actions communities can take when someone experiences cardiac arrest. Knowing CPR and where to find an AED can help you be ready to respond.

We are so excited and thankful that Trenholm State Community College's Upward Bound program will be participating in the BEACON BRIGHT FEST. Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program supported by the U.S. Department of Education that empowers low-income and first-generation high school students through academic enrichment, college prep, leadership development, and mentoring — helping scholars turn dreams into degrees! Many of these young scholars will be volunteering during the Beacon Bright Fest with our family activities and games. So when you see them, be sure to thank them for their volunteer service! The students will also be learning CPR with The Pulse Finders LLC❤

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS, UAB/COA & The Pulse Finders! 🎉

What an incredible achievement! We are thrilled to celebrate UAB - The University of Alabama at Birmingham on being selected as one of only 10 centers nationwide to participate in the Pediatric Prevention Network and receive more than $10 million in funding over five years!

Even more exciting, The Pulse Finders is honored to partner with UAB & COA during this initiative, equipping Youth Advisory Boards with lifesaving skills including Stop the Bleed, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Narcan.

This is what happens when education, community engagement, youth empowerment, and lifesaving preparedness come together. We are proud to be part of this important work and look forward to continuing to educate, equip, and engage the next generation of community lifesavers!
