UAB Eye Care is the clinical operation of the UAB School of Optometry. The state-of-the-art clinic is located on the ground floor in the Henry Peters Building at 1716 University Boulevard, next door to the Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences. It is a multidisciplinary clinic with both optometrists and ophthalmologists providing eye care in a number of subspecialties. The clinic is comprised

of 34,000 square feet of space with all of the modern equipment needed to accurately diagnose and treat most eye problems for children and adults.

Every little detail matters in a pediatric eye exam. Here, a patient has his near visual acuity checked using a near card and cover paddle to get a clear picture of how his eyes are seeing up close. In our pediatrics clinic, we want to be sure our young patients see their world clearly.

Congratulations to Sadie, a graduate of the Vision Therapy Program at UAB Eye Care! Sadie was diagnosed with ocular motor dysfunction, which caused her to struggle with reading, comprehension, and the inability to focus on lines while reading. After six months of dedicated work through the vision therapy clinic at UAB Eye Care, she has successfully completed a care plan that transfers directly into the classroom. We are so proud of your hard work and perseverance, Sadie!
