UAB Eye Care Specializing in contact lens, ocular disease/low vision, primary, & pediatric eye care, with optical

UAB Eye Care is the clinical operation of the UAB School of Optometry. The state-of-the-art clinic is located on the ground floor in the Henry Peters Building at 1716 University Boulevard, next door to the Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences. It is a multidisciplinary clinic with both optometrists and ophthalmologists providing eye care in a number of subspecialties. The clinic is comprised of 34,000 square feet of space with all of the modern equipment needed to accurately diagnose and treat most eye problems for children and adults.

Angelina D**g, now an 11th-grade student, first became a patient of Dr. Janelle Sventek in the eighth grade. As a candidate for myopia control, she began wearing specially designed daily disposable contact lenses and has been followed closely by Dr. Sventek for the past three years.

These daily disposable lenses are designed specifically for children to correct vision while helping slow the progression of myopia. Since beginning treatment, Angelina has benefited from a personalized approach to myopia management aimed at protecting her long-term eye health and vision.
