7 Months Post-Op Rhinoplasty

This patient came to our practice primarily bothered by her side profile. She felt the dorsal hump and downward, ""hooked"" appearance of her tip were the features that stood out most to her.

Now, at 7 months post-op, her profile has refined beautifully. The dorsal hump has been smoothed, the tip has been elevated and supported, and her results continue to settle naturally.

In this video, she shares a little more about what the recovery process was actually like for her. Rather than pain, she remembers experiencing more of a feeling of tightness from the postoperative swelling.

She also shares something we hear from so many of our patients once they are on the other side of surgery: ""Don't wait.""

When something has bothered you for years, it is common to spend even more time thinking about surgery before finally deciding to move forward. Looking back, many of our patients tell us they wish they had done it sooner.

It's also worth noting that this patient has thicker skin, which can mean swelling takes longer to fully resolve. Earlier in her recovery, lingering supratip swelling was managed with Kenalog injections as part of her postoperative care.

Rhinoplasty recovery is a process, and thoughtful postoperative management is an important part of that journey. At 7 months, she is looking beautiful, but her nose will continue to refine as she approaches the one-year mark.

We are so grateful for her trust and her willingness to share both her results and her experience with others considering rhinoplasty.

Profile Enhancement at Raggio MD

This lovely patient is 9 months post-operative following her deep-plane neck lift, rhinoplasty, and chin augmentation with filler.

When evaluating a younger patient like this, the goal is to thoughtfully address early concerns in a way that supports long-term balance and structure. For her, she wanted to address her concerns while she was still in her youthful years.

The primary areas of focus were the nose and neck. When evalutating this nose, I am looking at the dorsal hump, supratip fullness, and slight alar retraction. But it’s never just about one feature.

The profile as a whole is key. Her chin lacked support, which can make the nose appear more prominent and doesn’t provide the structure the neck needs. When that foundation isn’t there, it affects overall balance.

Rather than treating each area in isolation, the plan focused on the full picture: rhinoplasty, deep plane neck lift, and chin augmentation with filler.

By thoughtfully combining structural refinement of the nose, improved neck contour, and subtle chin projection, we were able to create a more balanced and harmonious profile. Each procedure was selected to complement the others, enhancing proportion without overpowering her natural features.

We are grateful for her trust in our team and for allowing us to be part of her journey.

FACELIFT AT 40: The Power of Prevention

Meta Glasses Edition

This patient is now 10 months post op from a comprehensive facial rejuvenation including a Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift, Neck Lift, Brow Lift, Upper Blepharoplasty, Fat Grafting, and Targeted CO₂ Laser Resurfacing.

When surgery is performed earlier in the aging process, the before and after may not be as dramatic, and that's the point. These are results that whisper. She still looks completely like herself, with restored support, improved definition, and subtle refinement throughout the face.

We're taking you up close to one of the details that matters most: her incisions.

At 10 months, her facelift incisions are beautifully healed and virtually undetectable, allowing her to wear her hair naturally without obvious signs of surgery. Thoughtful incision placement and meticulous closure are an important part of creating a result that doesn't advertise how it was achieved.

Facial rejuvenation in your 40s isn't for everyone, and age alone doesn't determine when someone is ready for surgery. Anatomy does.

For the right patient, addressing these changes earlier can create a subtle, natural result while setting the foundation for how the face continues to age.

1 Week Post Op: Rhinoplasty + Deep Plane Neck Lift

For this patient, the primary goal was profile enhancement. By addressing both the nose and the neck, we were able to approach her profile comprehensively and create improved balance between these features.

At just one week post op, swelling is still very much so present, particularly in the nose and neck. This is completely expected at this stage. What we see today is only an early glimpse of where her result is headed, and her profile will continue to soften, settle, and become more refined over the months ahead.

Beyond her surgical journey, we are especially grateful to hear her speak so highly of her experience with our team. Creating an environment where every patient feels comfortable, and genuinely cared for is just as important to us as the surgical care we provide.

We are so thankful for her trust in our team and her willingness to openly share her experience and healing journey with others. We look forward to watching her results continue to evolve.

Just 4 weeks after surgery, we are getting an early look at this patient's facial rejuvenation.
Her treatment plan included:

Preservation Extended Deep Plane Facelift & Neck Lift
Reposition and restore deeper facial and neck support

Brow Lift & Upper Blepharoplasty
Address brow descent and upper eyelid heaviness together

Full Face Structural Fat Grafting
Restore volume where it has been lost with time

Full Face CO₂ Laser Resurfacing
Improve skin tone, texture, and overall skin quality

Each procedure was thoughtfully chosen to address a different component of her facial aging: structure, position, volume, and skin quality. Rather than focusing on one area in isolation, the goal was to create a comprehensive plan specific to her anatomy.

At four weeks, she is still very early in the healing process. Residual swelling, tightness, and changes in skin texture are expected, and her face will continue to soften and refine over the coming months.

But even this early, we can begin to appreciate the restoration of her facial and neck contours and the balance created by addressing the face as a whole.

This is only a sneak peek. Her results have a lot of evolving left to do, and we can't wait to continue sharing her progress.

3 Months Post-Op: Rhinoplasty

Sometimes rhinoplasty isn't about making a dramatic change. It's about taking an already good nose and making small, thoughtful refinements that make it even better.

This patient came to us with an already well-proportioned nose and was looking for subtle improvements. Her goals were to refine the overall size and soften the nostril flare she noticed when smiling, without changing the character of her nose.

In addition to rhinoplasty, an alar base reduction was performed to further refine the nostril width.

At 3 months post-op, her result is beginning to take shape, but there is still healing ahead. Residual swelling is normal, particularly through the tip, and her nose will continue to refine over the coming months. The alar base incision lines will also continue to fade and become essentially undetectable with time.

This is a great example of how rhinoplasty doesn't always need to create a dramatic transformation. Sometimes it's simply about taking a good nose to great through subtle, intentional changes.

There is a reason behind every marking.

Before facial rejuvenation surgery, I carefully map out each patient's anatomy and the specific areas we plan to address. These drawings aren't simply marking where surgery will take place. They represent the surgical strategy we've developed for that individual patient.

In this video, I walk through the markings on this patient's face and explain why each one is placed where it is, from planned incision placement and areas of tissue descent to volume loss and the vectors of repositioning.

Facial aging is complex. Changes in the face, neck, brow, eyelids, volume, and skin all influence one another, which is why surgical planning has to look at the face comprehensively.

No two patients receive the exact same markings because no two patients have the exact same anatomy.

5 Months Post-Op: Rhinoplasty + Chin Implant

This patient came to us primarily bothered by her side profile. Her main concerns were a prominent dorsal hump and over-projection of the nose, and she was interested in creating better balance between her facial features.

In this case, we didn't look at the nose in isolation. Along with rhinoplasty to address the dorsal hump and nasal projection, a chin implant was placed to add projection to the chin and improve the relationship between the nose and lower face.

At 5 months post-op, you can really begin to appreciate how these two procedures work together. Rather than relying on the rhinoplasty alone to create the desired profile, adding appropriate chin projection helped bring the entire profile into better proportion.

She is still healing, and her rhinoplasty result will continue to refine over the coming months. We are grateful for her trust and for allowing us to share her progress.

3 Days Post Op: Facial Rejuvenation

At just 3 days after facial rejuvenation, this is what real healing can look like.

Swelling, bruising, and even temporary lumps and bumps are all expected during this early stage of recovery. Swelling does not always resolve evenly, and different areas of the face may heal at different rates. What you see in the first few days is not your final result.

This is an important reminder not to judge your outcome too early. As swelling gradually subsides and the tissues begin to settle, the face will continue to soften and refine over the weeks and months ahead.

Every patient's recovery looks a little different. At this stage, the focus isn't on perfection. It's on healing.

Trust the process, follow your postoperative instructions, and allow your body the time it needs to recover.

Facial Rejuvenation Myth Busting: Part Three

For the final part of this series, we're talking about one of the most important and often overlooked parts of facial rejuvenation: emotional healing.

In this video, Michele, one of our nurses who is now 1 year post op from her own facial rejuvenation, opens up about the emotional side of recovery and some of the challenges she experienced along the way.

It can be incredibly difficult not to compare your healing journey to someone else's, especially when you're seeing recovery photos and timelines online. But no two patients heal exactly the same. Swelling can linger longer for some patients than others, and your progress may look very different from what you see on social media.

That's why having a strong support system throughout recovery is so important. It's also why I encourage my patients to rely on their surgeon rather than someone else's timeline to determine what is appropriate for their individual stage of healing.

There can be ups and downs throughout the recovery process. Having realistic expectations, emotional support, and open communication with your surgical team can make an incredible difference.

Michele has been so generous in sharing the good, the difficult, and everything in between throughout this series. I hope her perspective helps others feel more prepared for not only the physical recovery after facial rejuvenation, but the emotional journey that comes with it as well.
