From Shelby County, AL, to the classroom, Jennifer Mayerhofer’s journey is a powerful reminder that every path unfolds in its own time. Starting college later than most, she embraced every opportunity along the way—and now celebrates a milestone she’s incredibly proud of.

Through hands-on learning and meaningful connections, Jennifer found her place at UAB, gaining real-world experience and learning from experts who helped prepare her for the next step in her career.

Her advice to future grads? "Take all the feedback and experiences you can get! This is the best time to learn!"

After receiving her Master's in Special Education, Jennifer plans to continue making a difference by serving children in our community through early childhood special education. 💛

💬 "I am graduating in May with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I have been blessed to pursue this degree as a recipient of the Trans Disciplinary Grant offered through the College of Education. I am looking forward to working with young children with learning differences and disabilities after graduation. I most look forward to using my own personal experiences as a parent and educator to encourage and strengthen caregivers as they support the abilities of young children entrusted to their care.
