What does waking up from anesthesia really feel like?😴
It's the question we get asked most before surgery and understandably so.
Here's the honest answer:
Most patients describe it as surfacing slowly from a deep nap - a little groggy, maybe a dry mouth or mild chill, and thoughts that take a minute to catch up. Within a short while, you're alert and talking like normal.
The biggest fear is usually the unknown - not the reality. Our anesthesia team tailors your plan to your health and procedure, and our recovery staff stays with you the whole time you're waking up.🩺
Most patients' reaction afterward? "That's really it?“
