Since 1992, Autism Support of Alabama (ASA) has served all 67 Alabama counties through programs that educate, empower, and support individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. From CARE Binders that organize records and ASK Kits that support first responders with sensory tools, to Family Grants and Postsecondary Scholarships, ASA meets families where they are.

Preparing for a new school year can sometimes feel like a lot to coordinate, but local community resources are here to help ease the transition. The Opelika Ambassadors of Change are hosting the 2026 Opelika City-Wide Back-to-School Supply Giveaway on Sunday, July 26th, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Covington Recreation Center-City of Opelika Parks and Recreation (213 Carver Avenue, Opelika, AL).

This event is a fantastic, supportive environment to grab essential school supplies and connect with valuable local resources. Along with the supply giveaway, families can enjoy free food, raffles, and a helpful resource expo. Opelika City Schools registration updates will also be available, and Spanish interpreters will be on-site to assist.

Please note that children must be present to receive their supplies.
